Chelsea Starting XI Prediction vs Arsenal (UEFA Europa League Final)

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has seen his job status intensively speculated upon all season long, so why should that change now with one game to play? The Italian, who is still looking for the first major trophy of his coaching career, says that he would quit the club if his job hinged on the Europa League final against Arsenal next week.

It would seem very odd, his getting the sack if they lose at the Baku Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night. After all, he’s already secured UEFA Champions League qualification for Chelsea next season (the expected goal for the season), regardless of the result here.

Arsenal Starting XI Prediction vs Chelsea: UEFA Europa League Final

Just two points and one place in the table separated Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League table this past season. These two London rivals are very evenly matched to say the least, and they’ll get one more shot at each other, this time with a trophy on the line.

They’ll meet Wednesday night in the UEFA Europa League Final, staged at Baku Olympic Stadium. Due to high political tensions between the host country of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the birth country of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Gunners will be without the services of the winger they acquired from Manchester United in January of 2018.

Chelsea vs Arsenal UEL Final Injury Report: Kante, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Rudiger

Update: N’Golo Kante has suffered a new injury this week, and he’s now a doubt for this match.

It’s a London derby Europa League Final, as Chelsea and Arsenal, two teams very familiar with their opponents’ tactics and capabilities, will square off in Baku. The stakes are very high as Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is aiming to win his first major trophy in coaching.

For Arsenal, it’s win or you’re back in the Europa League again next season. With reports circulating that their top transfer targets are concerned about the opportunity to play Champions League football next season, the Gunners could see a very negative chain reaction here with a loss whilst a win could incite some positive momentum.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Miss Europa League Final Due to Political Climate

Athletes commonly miss games due to injuries or personal reasons, but it’s not often that they forego a match due to dangerous political situations. Often an individual’s presence or absence will have a major impact on the sport bet being placed, and Arsenal winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan is such an example.

He has decided not to travel with the rest of the squad to Baku, Azerbaijan, where his team will battle Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League tournament final on May 29.

Liverpool #1, Spurs #2 as England Dominates Global Power Rankings

Liverpool FC are looking very strong as they head into their all-England UEFA Champions League final versus Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on June 1. at arch-rival Manchester United. Their fine form (third highest season point total in Premier League history/most points ever for a runner-up) has resulted in their retaining the top spot this week in Shaka Hislop’s global power rankings.

The table composed by the former goalkeeper and current ESPN FC pundit is a world order, but it’s all Europe this week, and almost every week. With both Euro finals being all-England match-ups, it’s no surprise that British sides dominate the list.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction at Burnley FC

pierre-emerick aubameyang

It’s been an amazing year for English football! Two European finals, four British teams. For one of them, Arsenal FC, a berth in the UEFA Champions League is on the line. Given what’s at stake for the Gunners on May 29 at the Baku Olympic Stadium, manager Unai Emery may elect to do a fair amount of squad rotation in the season finale at Burnley FC tomorrow; maybe.

Then again, the injury and doubtful list is piling up for the north London side, so perhaps Emery might find himself somewhat limited in his options when he takes his side to the Turf Moor.

Arsenal FC at Burnley Injury Report: Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Suarez, Bardsley

Arsenal FC heads to the Turf Moor on Championship Sunday in a match that doesn’t really mean much for either side, but should be entertaining nonetheless. Burnley have already long ensured that they will safely stay up for next season while Arsenal no longer have a chance to get back into the UEFA Champions League via a top four finish.

Their UCL hopes now rest with beating arch-rivals Chelsea in the London derby UEFA Europa League Final later this month. But that’s down the road, for now let’s take a look at the fitness situation for both sides in the Premier League season finale.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News at Valencia (Europa League)

The bad news for Arsenal is that they have just one route, not two, back into the UEFA Champions League next season. The good news is they’re in great shape right now via that lone route. The Gunners will play in Spain tonight, at Valencia, with a 3-1 advantage on aggregate in their UEFA Europa League semifinal tie.

As poor as Arsenal’s road form has been this season, they head into the second leg with not much work to do. In terms of team news, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is done for the year, and thus at the club (he leaves for Juventus this summer) due to a hamstring tear.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Arsenal have recently been a mess in the Premier League lately, failing to carpe diem when a top four slot was there for the taking. They have now lost four of the past five and find themselves close to being officially out of the top four yet again.

If fellow London sides Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea both win this weekend and Arsenal draws or loses to Brighton, they will then have only one route back into the UCL- winning the Europa League.

Jesse Lingard Believes United Will Still Have Top 4 Possibility on Final Day

jesse lingard

Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard believes his side will still have a chance of finishing in the top four when they host Cardiff City on the final day of the season. Lingard is holding on to this hope despite the horrid form his side has been in lately, and the precarious position that it has now put them.

In the nine games played across all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named permanent manager, United have just two wins, one draw, six losses, and goal differential of -9. Chelsea currently sit fourth in the table, but they have a +8 goal differential advantage on United, meaning the Red Devils will need the Blues to drop points in both of their final two games.
