The January transfer window is open for business, but so far there hasn’t been a ton of real huge significant action to speak of. That doesn’t gel with the tabloids of course! According to the back pages, there is always not just smoke, but also fire, regardless of how cool it might actually be.

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the subject of plenty of hot transfer rumors; some linking him with a big money move to Real Madrid. The 30-year-old says there is no there there in regards to these narratives.

Do Manchester United Really Deserve Favorite Status in Europa League?

Manchester United’s inconsistent form in the Premier League was highlighted once again in their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The Gunners had only won one of their last 11 matches heading into the contest against Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men. However, goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopoulos guided Arsenal to the three points, securing their first win under the tenure of Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction vs Leeds United (FA Cup 3rd Round)

Will Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta due some squad rotation tomorrow night when his side hosts Leeds United in a FA Cup third round clash? Most likely, as the team’s priorities this season lay in other competitions.

Still, this is the tournament where the Gunners shine, as they have won it more so than any other side. Thus, we should expect them to bring their A game, regardless of who is on the pitch.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Optimistic About January Transfer Window Additions

The January transfer window is now here and we shall see if Manchester United make some additions. Currently in fifth place, the time and space is right to beef up the roster and make that push for the top four. Of course, it remains to be seen who Old Trafford might go after, with top target Erling Haaland having gone to Borussia Dortmund instead.

Despite United having the inside track, due to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s connections to the Norwegian youngster, the club was reportedly not very keen on what the wonder kid’s agent, Mino Railo, was asking. Another top MUFC target, Mario Mandzukic, elected to sign with Qatar Stars League club Al-Duhail instead. Maybe United wasn’t really that interested instead.

Manchester United Starting XI Prediction at Arsenal FC

What’s got to be the New Year’s resolution for Manchester United? Finding some semblance of consistency! United  have lost to some of the worst teams in the Premier League in: Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Watford FC and AFC Bournemouth.

In addition to getting beat by low table and relegation fodder sides, they’ve also beaten the big boys. United are still the only team to take points from Liverpool this season, and they’ve defeated the other three teams in front of them in the standings/the rest of the top four.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction vs Manchester United

Maybe the flipping of the calendar is a great thing for Arsenal FC? 2019 was a disaster under Unai Emery, who was deservedly sacked, and interim manager Freddie Ljungberg couldn’t stop the bleeding. Now Mikel Arteta takes over the shambolic side which is a complete train wreck defensively. He’s the right man for restarting the culture, over time, but supporters will have to be patient.

At least they still have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who continues to be a prolific scorer. The Gunners will host Manchester United on New Year’s Day, in a match-up of two clubs trying to find their way during their rebuilds.

Man United vs Arsenal Team News: Bailly, Pogba, Rojo, Chambers, Xhaka

Manchester United visits Arsenal Wednesday night in a match-up of two giant clubs that have fallen far from their former glory. United are much closer to getting back there, as at least 1.) they are up to fifth place now in the table and 2.) they have shown that that they can beat the big boys.

However, they also lose to the small sides and those defeats are just inexcusable. The Red Devils are coughing up easy goals and MVP David De Gea is having a down season, at least by his elite goalkeeping standards. This could be a problem against a gunners side that can certainly score.

Paul Pogba Could Play vs Arsenal After Missing Burnley Win

Paul Pogba missed out on Manchester United’s 2-0 at Burnley yesterday because, according to his manager, he just didn’t feel quite right.

Having been subbed on late in the loss to Watford on Dec. 22, his first action since Sept. 30, the Frenchman played a whole half in the Boxing Day win over Newcastle United (a match where he handed out wrist bands aimed at trying to curb the scourge of racism that is plaguing football right now). However, he played no part in yesterday’s road win, the first clean sheet for United in a league game since Sept. 14 versus Leicester City.

Christian Pulisic Suffers Hamstring Injury, Misses Arsenal Win

Chelsea came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 today, but they did it without left winger Christian Pulisic, who: “felt a hamstring training after the Southampton game and is left out as a precaution.”

We haven’t seen him much lately as he only came on for the final 25 minutes of the shocking home defeat to lowly Saints on Boxing Day. He didn’t start versus Tottenham Hotspur last weekend either. The American’s hamstring injury could not have come at a worse time for the Blues as we’re in the midst of festive period fixture congestion. We’re really in the thick of it now as the matches keep coming on the slate fast and furious.

Arsenal FC starting XI Prediction vs Chelsea FC

Mesut Ozil is Arsenal’s highest paid and many would say most accomplished player. Frozen out under Unai Emery, he was given a life line again under Freddie Ljungberg, and now he’s back in the first team mix under new coach Mikel Arteta. Tomorrow will see Arteta’s second game in charge of the north London club, we’re they’ll take on arch-rival Chelsea at home.

It’s expected that we’ll see Ozil in Arteta’s first team. “To be fair, his attitude in training since the day that I walked in the building has been incredible,” Arteta said of the former German international.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction at Arsenal FC

Chelsea at Arsenal tomorrow is a match-up of two London rivals, traditional powers and big six clubs. That’s one way to look at it. It’s also a match featuring a 12th place team in danger of falling out of European contention entirely, versus a team that’s won just two of their last seven and lost three of four in the league.

That’s another way to look at it. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on the team’s very poor run of form lately:
