Last week, we saw reports that Paris Saint-Germain wanted Wenger to come on board as a transfer expert, but it appears the 68-year-old had plenty of other and probably better options.

Arsenal FC headed into the international break on fire, having nine in a row across all competitions. Almost all of their entire team is currently in fine form, but the stellar striker partnership of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazatte are playing especially world class right now. thierry henry

alexandre lacazette

Arsenal FC was our preseason pick to finish fourth, and here they are in that very position as the second international break commences. The Gunners are one spot higher in NBC Sports’ Premier League power rankings this week, a list that obviously has some correlation with the current table, but not completely.

As we said in our Arsenal FC season preview, the Gunners will score, but struggle a little bit to stop opposing goals at times. The north London side has indeed been a fun to watch high scoring side, with the strike force pairing/bromance of Alexandre Lacazaette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang really in elite form right now.

Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Both on Fire Right Now

alexandre lacazette

Unai Emery is getting out of Alexandre Lacazette this season what Arsene Wenger could not during last term. The Frenchman is certainly living up to his lofty transfer fee now after failing to do so initially. The Lacazette partnership with another high priced forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is paying off huge dividends for both players.

Right now, it’s hard to imagine the idea of the two being a competitors for playing time, instead of cooperative for the north London side’s success. The Gunners head into the international break in fourth place, with 18 points and a tie-breaker advantage over arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
