Arsenal Star Aubameyang Linked with Transfer to Man United

pierre-emerick aubameyang

Could Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang be the missing piece that makes Manchester United’s final third click on all cylinders again? With Bruno Fernandes now around to provide top tier service, who could make the Red Devils swashbucklers again in attack?

MUFC didn’t obtain a forward to replace Romelu Lukaku when the big Belgian left for Inter Milan last summer, but they did pick up Odion Ighalo on loan in the January window and he’s been a tremendous get to say the least.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction at Manchester City

Is the Mikel Arteta rebuild/turnaround truly taking effect at Arsenal FC? Are we seeing the Gunners on an upward overall trajectory? The north London side made it three Premier League victories in a row as they edged past West Ham on Saturday, and their recent form has changed the complexion of their season.

They now have a legitimate chance of qualifying for European football next season, and they can lock in on trying to reach this goal, having now been bounced from the Europa League. Up next is a very tough challenge though, a road game at last year’s domestic treble winners, Manchester City.

Manchester City Starting XI Prediction vs Arsenal FC

Manchester City hosts Arsenal FC in a rescheduled fixture in midweek, meaning we have a Wednesday night Premier League contest to look forward to (and preview). In this all big six clash, City have a couple of major star player injury doubts, and one wonders what approach manager Pep Guardiola may take here.

Striker supreme Sergio Aguero and midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne could be rested as a precaution, with City having already pretty much secured a top four finish, but also long out of the running for the title. With that mind, (Liverpool will clinch the title with just two wins or Man City losses, or any combination thereof) Guardiola may prioritize other remaining competitions.

Arsenal at Man City Team News: Aguero, De Bruyne, Sane, Torreira

Arsenal are not totally licked yet in their quest for UEFA Champions League qualification, but they certainly have plenty of work to do. Their next opponent, Manchester City, face a ban that if upheld means the fifth place side in the table will get a a CL berth. The Gunners are only five points behind Manchester United for that slot.

However, they’ll have to press on without midfielder Lucas Torreira, as the club confirmed today that his season is now most likely done. His fractured ankle will keep him out 8-10 weeks, plus you have to account for rehabilitation time and getting back to match fitness, and well, it pretty much means his 2019-20 is over.

Manchester United Draw Norwich City in FA Cup Quarterfinals

fa cup

Manchester United, as expected, rolled past good old chum Wayne Rooney and Derby County in the FA Cup fifth round today. Getting a brace from Odion Ighalo and a goal from Luke Shaw, they are now through to the tournament quarterfinals where they’ll take on Norwich City.

In looking at the four match-ups of the last eight, you’ll see that the four remaining big six are all split away from each other. In terms of what’s the most appetizing tie on paper, it would probably be Chelsea, who bounced Liverpool this week, traveling to Leicester City. It’s an all top four match-up.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction vs West Ham United

Nicolas Pepe has not exactly set the world on fire during debut season at Arsenal FC, and he’s taking a lot of heat from the fan base because of it. However, he’s been much more productive lately, and he’s the only Gunner who has scored three goals and registered five assists in home games this season. Is he justifying his hefty price tag?

Probably not, but the transition to Mikel Arteta has been good for the summer transfer window acquisition. He’s getting more opportunities now than he had under Unai Emery. Let’s take a look at who else Arteta could select in his first team for the London derby Premier League fixture at home against David Moyes’ West Ham United on Saturday.

West Ham United Starting XI Prediction at Arsenal FC

The Saturday slate of Premier League fixtures includes a London derby between West Ham United and Arsenal FC at the Emirates. The Irons have lost five in a row away from the London Stadium, conceding 12 goals in those matches, after having given up only 11 in their previous nine road games.

In short, they’ll really have to sharpen up defensively, if they are to avoid getting the drop to the Championship. As it currently stands they’re in the penultimate safety position, but that’s only due to tie-breakers. The margin for error is still razor thin as they’re level on points with AFC Bournemouth, who reside in the drop zone.
