Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News at Standard Liege

Arsenal FC head to Standard Liege tomorrow night for what will be their UEFA Europa League group stage finale. With qualification already all but assured, interim boss Freddie Ljungberg might rotate his starting XI.

The Gunners have been playing their reserves and kids all along in this tournament, but right now their focus has to be on getting above mid-table in the league. Actually, the main focus needs to be on finding a long term replacement for Unai Emery, but that’s another narrative for another time.

Arsenal FC Issue Update on Kieran Tierney, Hector Bellerin Injuries

Ahead of Thursday’s trip to Standard Liege, for the UEFA Europa League group stage finale at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne, Arsenal issued an injury update. Defenders Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney both got hurt last night in the 3-1 win at West Ham United.

The victory was sorely needed for the Gunners as it ended a winless in nine across all competitions stretch. But it obviously came with a cost. Tierney suffered a shoulder injury during the match that could see him sidelined for some time. Bellerin hurt his hamstring before the match and was replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles; who definitely needed the playing time. Bellerin’s issue doesn’t appear to be too serious.

Arsenal FC starting XI Prediction at West Ham United

For Arsenal and their supporters, life is beyond nightmarish right now. Sacking Unai Emery and replacing him, on a caretaker basis, with Freddie Ljungberg, did absolutely nothing to stop the bleeding. Of all the teams in the Premier League, yes including the newly promoted sides, they are the only team in the league not to have won a match in their last six.

They’re last league win came way back on October 6.  They’re number one priority right now needs to be finding that permanent replacement for Emery, because it’s definitely not Ljungberg. While Arsene Wenger certainly overstayed his welcome, life after him has been so much rougher.

West Ham United Starting XI Prediction vs Arsenal FC

west-ham-united

It’s another London derby that could see West Ham upsetting a big six side at home; again. Last time, on November 30, the Irons hammered Chelsea, giving them their only win in their last 10. The victory probably saved Manuel Pellegrini’s job, for the time being, but he won’t stay in charge for long if continues failing to produce results.

Speaking of manager sacking, life after Unai Emery is off to a rough start at Arsenal, so this is a match where both big-spending London clubs badly need a win. West Ham reside in 16th place, so they need to really start winning some games, and now, in order to avoid disaster.

Arsenal at West Ham Team News: Ceballos, Holding, Antonio, Wilshere

Unai Emery is gone, but the winless streak for Arsenal remains. It turns out the severe problems at Arsenal go well beyond the Spaniard. Two games into the Freddie Ljungberg (caretaker manager) era, the Gunners have acquired just one point, and fallen to tenth in the table.

That single point was extremely hard earned too as they had to come back from a goal down (twice) against 19th-place Norwich City in order to obtain it. They’ll complete this weekend’s action with a Monday nighter at 16th place West Ham United, a team that just upset Chelsea at home. Arsenal come into this one desperate for a win, as they have not achieved a victory in their last nine across all competitions.

Six Potential Arsenal FC Manager Candidates

mikel arteta

The first game of the post Unai Emery era at Arsenal FC is in the books and the result was bleak. The Gunners could only manage a 2-2 draw at newly promoted Norwich City, a side that could easily find themselves sent back down to the Championship once this season is over.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction at Norwich City

Life after Unai Emery for Arsenal begins with a visit to Carrow Road, where they’ll take on the 18th place Canaries of Norwich City tomorrow. Arsenal interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg has the reins now, and heading into this fixture he said the following:

“However long I oversee Arsenal for I will give everything I have to put smiles back on faces again.” What would make Gooners fans smile again? Not having to be relegated again to the Europa League for another season; that’s for sure.

Arsenal vs Norwich Team News: Ljungberg, Luiz, Kolasinac, Mustafi, Cantwell

Well, the Unai Emery era at Arsenal FC was short and not so sweet. #EmeryOut transpired this week, and honestly, one could have seen it coming since the Granit Xhaka/team captaincy debacle. The draw which should have been a loss to Southampton last weekend was probably the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Now it’s up to interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg to try and reach the Gunners goals, get back in the top four this season, and not get resigned to Europa League yet again. Up next is an away clash at relegation fodder Norwich City, and Ljungberg will have some fitness concerns for this road trip.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Eintracht (UEL)

The heat on Arsenal manager Unai Emery is absolutely scorching right now. The draw to Southampton on the weekend should have been a loss, and it certainly felt like one to their fan base. The Gunners are certainly sputtering domestically, and it remains to be seen how much more rope Emery will be given.

In Europe however, Arsenal have looked really good, with a chance to secure their place in the UEFA Europa League knockout round tomorrow night if/when they can get a result at home against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Gunners come in sitting atop group F with 10 points. They’re the only team in their group with a positive goal differential (+8), and they’ll take on a side that’s sitting third, but only via tie-breaker, in Frankfurt.
