Tottenham Starting XI Prediction vs Middlesbrough (FA Cup)

Next stop on the roller coaster that is 2021-22 Tottenham Hotspur F.C? Middlesbrough and the fifth round of the FA Cup. It’s been a wild couple of weeks for the North Londoners. Heck, it’s been a wild season. They opened their 2021/22 campaign by knocking off reigning champions Manchester City in the league under a new head coach in Nuno Espirito Santo.

Then things fell off of a cliff. Badly. A 3-0 loss to Manchester United saw the Portuguese manager relieved of his duties.

Tottenham Team News vs Middlesbrough (FA Cup) Skipp, Moura, Tanganga

It’s the Championship versus the Premier League in fifth-round FA Cup action this midweek as Tottenham head to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough.

Round five of the FA Cup has been somewhat of a poison chalice for Spurs in the last couple of seasons. Everton and Norwich have eliminated them at this stage in their last two attempts at winning a fifth-round FA Cup tie. They’ll hope to end that hoodoo this week with the help of a secret weapon.

Experienced Dyche has Burnley flexing their muscles at just the right time

Burnley had 11 points on Christmas day 2021 and were firmly stuck in the relegation zone, which prompted many observers to argue they were guaranteed to go down. Indeed, Sean Dyche had managed to keep the Clarets in England’s top-flight for five admirable years, but, sadly, the time had come to bid the Turf Moor team goodbye, according to many.

Anyone who was foolish enough to write this will now be ripping it up after Dyche’s men ended February having lost only once in six games to once again set the stage for their survival. Notably, over this time the Clarets were able to roll over a Brighton team that are enjoying an unprecedented season of success in the league which was then followed up by beating Tottenham Hotspur at home.

Jadon Sancho Makes Very Bold Champions League Claim

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho had been the club’s most effective attacking player this month, as he’s found form again since the January transfer window closed. Perhaps the 73m GBP summer pickup feels more loose now that there is less competition for places in the final third?

The former Borussia Dortmund star is now, finally, living up to expectations, hype and his big price tag. Ahead of the weekend fixture, which resulted in a goalless draw with Watford (his schoolboy club), Sancho made described how he got his groove back. He also made a bold UEFA Champions League claim.

West Ham United Team News, Starting XI Prediction vs Wolves

West Ham United host Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow in a clash that has massive implications in the race for top four. It’s going to be the wildest and most wide open race for the final two UCL qualification berths that we have seen in numerous years.

Roman Abramovich Gives Up Care and Stewardship of Chelsea FC

Absolutely seismic, albeit vague, news coming out of Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Roman Abramovich, Owner of the club since 2003, announced that he is giving up “care and stewardship” of the club to the Chelsea charitable foundation. This shocking move comes amidst the global chaos that has ensued since Abramovich’s native country of Russia invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine.

Abramovich is globally notorious for being the “favorite son” of Russian despot Vladimir Putin, who illegally attacked Ukraine. Amidst this global backdrop, and on the eve of a cup final match, there have been calls within the UK Parliament for Great Britain to seize Abramovich’s assets, including Chelsea FC.

Tottenham Team News, Starting XI Prediction vs Leeds United

What a difference a few days can make in football. After riding high following their victory over runaway league leaders in Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur followed it up with a complete capitulation against relegation-threatened Burnley.

To be fair, it is a perfect microcosm of this current Spurs outfit. World beaters one week, easy-beats the next. The next stop on this rollercoaster? Leeds United.

Predicted Liverpool Starting XI vs Chelsea (Carabao Cup Final)

Liverpool and Chelsea take center stage on Sunday at Wembley, as the two clubs face off in the Carabao Cup Final. The Reds are seeking their ninth League Cup triumph, but first since 2012.

The big question mark coming into the game for Liverpool is the health of Diogo Jota, who is going to be a really late fitness test. The rest of the line-up should be similar to the group that defeated Leeds United 6-0 on Wednesday.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Liverpool (EFL Cup Final)

efl-cup

Chelsea FC, who have already claimed the FIFA Club World Cup title this season, will look to add their second trophy when they take on Liverpool FC in the League Cup Final on Sunday afternoon. No matter what happens at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, we will have a new holder of the trophy for the first time in a half-decade.

The last time someone other than Manchester City won it, it was Manchester United, back in 2017. City went down at the hands of West Ham United in the fourth round of this year’s competition.

Chelsea Team News vs Liverpool (EFL Cup Final): Abramovich, Mount, Ziyech

roman abramovich

Never thought we’d mention a club owner as the lead for a team news match preview article, but here we are. Also, never imagined I’d craft an article of this sort amidst a Russian invasion of Ukraine, but that’s the world today. Chelsea Football Club are owned by Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovich, a man who has a father-son kind of relationship with Russian Premier Vladimir Putin.

With Putin having now invaded Ukraine, and war dominating the home pages of news outlets all over the world, we are seeing boycotts of and sanctions against components of the Russian economy everywhere. Reports indicate that Abramovich may not be able to ever live in the United Kingdom again.
