Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction vs Brentford

Antonio Conte must be wondering what he has got himself into- a Spurs season that promised so much has lurched from one crisis to another. It seems the rot has set in, and it has set deep.

At least with the Italian at the helm they have one of the finest football brains in the game to help them find their way back to their best. There were always going to be teething problems as Conte ingrains his new players into his new way of doing things. However, nobody saw the capitulation in Slovenia coming.

Tottenham Team News vs Brentford: Romero, Lo Celso, Scarlett

In what has been nothing short of a dumpster fire of a season so far, Spurs had a reprieve last Premier League matchday when their fixture with Burnley was postponed due to inclement weather. Due to that cancellation, their last competitive fixture remains that embarrassing defeat against the lowest-ranked side in European club competition, NS Mura.

I’m sure the bitter taste of that defeat is one the first-team squad is itching to wash out of their mouths. They couldn’t have asked for better opposition to bounce back against. This matchday they face Brentford in a unique London derby.

merseyside derby liverpool everton

The 239th Merseyside Derby takes place on Wednesday evening at Goodison Park. Liverpool have back-to-back league wins coming out of the international break, and they will look to keep that streak going against Everton.

Liverpool may not have any major changes from Saturday’s 4-0 win over Southampton.

After a straight-forward 4-0 win over Southampton, Liverpool heads across Stanley Park to face Everton on Wednesday.

Manchester City Starting XI Prediction vs Aston Villa

The Citizens will look to continue their assault on the top of the table in their next fixture as they face Aston Villa at Villa Park in a replay of last year’s Carabao Cup final.

Despite their awful record against the reigning Premier League champions, Aston Villa will take some confidence from their last fixture against a Premier League champion at Villa Park – A 7-2 victory over Liverpool last season.

Man City Team News vs Aston Villa: Grealish, De Bruyne, Laporte, Foden, Torres

Second-place Manchester City travels to Birmingham to take on a red hot Aston Villa side who are undefeated two games into the Steven Gerrard era. Both sides are somewhat in-form, and it should be a fascinating tactical battle between rookie manager Steven Gerrard and the elite mentor Pep Guardiola.

Since Aston Villa’s promotion in 2019, Manchester City has a perfect record against them, winning all five fixtures (4 EPL fixtures and last season’s Carabao Cup Final), scoring 15 times and conceding just three goals. The Villans will be hoping they can buck that trend, whilst Manchester City will be supremely confident that they can collect the three points.

West Ham United Starting XI Prediction vs Brighton

West Ham United come into this one on the back of a couple of defeats in a row in the Premier League. After defeating title contenders Liverpool 3-2 just prior to the international break, the Hammers have proceeded to lose their next two matches against Wolverhampton and Manchester City respectively.

David Moyes will look to this home fixture against Brighton to get his side back on the winner’s sheet and gain some momentum as they charge full steam ahead into a crazy Christmas schedule that may just define their entire season in the league.

West Ham Team News vs Brighton: Cresswell, Ogbonna

West Ham finds themselves in somewhat of a rut having lost their last two Premier League fixtures against Wolverhampton and Manchester City. They will be thankful that it hasn’t affected their Premier League position. The Hammers sit proudly in fourth place equal on points with Arsenal and more than a game ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham.

This week they host fellow early-season surprise packets in Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls have also fallen off the pace somewhat, which makes this a tantalizing battle between two sides who desperately need the three points.

Which Premier League suitor will win the race for Vlahovic?

Twelve months ago, Dusan Vlahovic was a topic of discussion reserved mainly for Florence natives with a penchant for following Fiorentina. His exploits were catching the eye of a wider Serie A audience, but interest was more domestic than international. Word travels fast, though, and murmurs regarding the emergence of a special talent in Italy have pricked the ears of Premier League suitors that are forever in the market for hidden gems.

Six Leading Candidates to be the Next Notre Dame Head Coach

Brian Kelly has bolted Notre Dame for LSU, and now we have to wonder what’s next. Kelly at Louisiana State is an odd hire, a strange fit to be sure, but why not embrace the strangeness of the silliest silly season ever.

Not even to conference championship Saturday yet and we’re already talking about a new hire at USC as well as openings at Notre Dame and Oklahoma. The domino theory is already starting to take shape. With that in mind, let’s look at who could be headed to South Bend.

Brian Kelly Leaves Notre Dame: Biggest Wins and Losses Part 3

(repost from late 2020)

Notre Dame Head Coach Brian Kelly is just now three wins behind Knute Rockne for the most all time by a Fighting Irish mentor. So an ACC title game win tomorrow (game preview at this link), plus two College Football Playoff victories and he would end the 2020 season knotted up with the patriarch of ND Football.

In a case of very strange coincidence, or perhaps just the circle of life, Rockne’s first season in charge was 1918.
