Tottenham vs Wolves Team News: Foyth, Sessegnon, Jonny

Just eight points separate the Premier League’s fourth and ninth place teams, meaning there are a whole lot of teams with plenty to play for this late in the season. We could see the fifth place team in Champions League and the seventh place team in Europa League, depending on whether or not the UEFA sanctions against Manchester City hold up.

Two teams sandwiched in that 4-9 mix are Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who will meet at White Hart Lane tomorrow. Let’s take a look at the team news for both sides in this one, starting with Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Despite having just on played on Thursday night in the Europa League competition, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be plenty fresh for their clash at Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow. That’s because Wolves had already essentially booked their passage through to the UEL round of 32, and thus Nuno Espirito Santo could do some squad rotation.

With Spurs so banged up right now, this fixture could be pretty dangerous for them. Let’s take a look at what kind of side Jose Mourinho will put out there in North London on Sunday.

Man City vs Aston Villa: EFL Cup Final Starting XI Predictions

Tomorrow sees either Aston Villa or Manchester City add to their EFL Cup trophy collection. For the Citizens, who are overwhelmingly favored, victory tomorrow will mean League Cup glory number seven. And then winning one more would tie them with Liverpool for the most all-time.

Villa aren’t far behind though, as they can pull even with City, with six League Cup titles, should they pull off the massive upset tomorrow. There are many who believe that this competition is, at best devoid of much meaning, and at worst, totally unnecessary.

Man City vs Aston Villa: EFL Cup Team News, Match Preview

Since 2014, Manchester City have won four EFL Cup titles, which brought their all-time number up to six. Only Liverpool (8) have won more. Aston Villa have won five, tied with Manchester United for third all time. So tomorrow’s League Cup title fixture is certainly a match-up of “traditional powers” in this competition.

Aston Villa ‘s last win, however, came back in 1996. Let’s take a look at the team news for this one, starting with City. Central defender Aymeric Laporte won’t likely feature in this one after having suffered yet another injury setback in the Citizens’ 2-1 comeback win against Real Madrid in midweek.

Illini Basketball Game Preview, Prediction vs Indiana Hoosiers

Sunday afternoon brings a match-up of two teams that are coming off their in-state rivalry games Thursday night when the Indiana Hoosiers visit the Illinois Fighting Illini. Check out college basketball expert picks to see who may win this matchup. For Indiana, they fell way behind early, clawed back into it at Purdue, but ultimately fell short in a game that was so utterly ugly, well there no true real winners.

Purdue played pretty bad, but IU was just that much worse, and now they have lost seven straight in the Crossroads El Classico rivalry. Illinois won comfortably, but never truly stepped on the throat of Northwestern. Many expected this basketball version of the Land of Lincoln trophy game to be more lopsided than it was, but at the end of the day, the Cats were not a true threat to the Illini.

Manchester United at Everton FC Starting XI Predictions

It’s very crowded in the middle and just above the middle in the Premier League table right now. You have a multitude of teams competing for UEL and UCL qualification next season, and should the Manchester City ban be upheld upon appeal, then you have another slot open and hence more teams with a chance to get into the tournaments.

Two of these such teams, Manchester United and Everton, will meet at Goodison Park on Sunday. Let’s take a look at who both sides may select in their first team in this crunch clash.

Man United at Everton Team News: Martial, Tuanzebe, Gomes

Manchester United have another major injury concern as they head to Everton for the weekend Premier League fixture on Sunday. Forward Anthony Martial is out again, and that is definitely a blow, especially with leading scorer Marcus Rashford likely done for the season. How long the Frenchman will be out remains to be seen, as his injury may not be that serious.

However, United certainly have some big time fixtures coming up in March: the FA Cup clash with Derby County, the Europa League round of 16 battle with Lask, the second Manchester Derby and more, so they’ll need all their weapons able to fire for the run in here.

Man United Avoid Wolves, Draw Lask in Europa League Round of 16

Manchester United took care of business, in a big way, by routing Club Brugge last night and thus booked their place in the UEFA Europa League round of 16. Arsenal fell to Olympiacos on away goal tie-breaker differential, so United are definitely the undisputed favorite in the tournament now.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, a real thorn in the side of the Red Devils lately, join United as English clubs still alive in the competition. If they meet, it won’t be until a later round though as United have drawn LASK and Wolves will face Olympiacos. Full draw is below

Illini Basketball: Who is the Team’s Third Piece?

And for the first time since 2010, Illini basketball will finish with a winning record in conference play. Illinois stomped Northwestern tonight 74-66, in a game in where they displayed a form that was far from their best (but plenty enough). A bonafide league title contender up until a couple weeks ago, they still have a really nice NCAA Tournament profile that resembles a #7 to #8 seed. For where this program has been in recent years, it’s a very welcome development and a nice surprise.

They also have a true big two in Ayo Dosnumu and Kofi Cockburn. The dynamic duo certainly have some NBA Draft stock, and may comprise the league’s best inside-outside combination. Ayo is the closer, and the team’s true alpha dog, but Cockburn isn’t far behind, and he can carry this team for long stretches, just like Dosunmu can. But who is the Illini third piece?

Man United News and Notes: Martial, Fred, Ighalo

anthony martial

Do you want the good news or bad news first? We’ll just go ahead and get the bad out of the way first- Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is injured again. The Frenchman missed his club’s 5-0 rout of Club Brugge, in the home leg of their round of 32 UEFA Europa League tie. Winners on aggregate with a margin of 6-1, they’ll now learn their round of 16 opponent in a matter of hours.

The first half was definitely the best that United have played for a 45 minute span this season, if not much longer. However, losing Martial is definitely a blow, especially with leading scorer Marcus Rashford likely done for the season.
