Jurgen Klopp Comments on Sadio Mane Fuming at Mo Salah

sadio mane

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is known for being a calm, cool, even-keeled kind of guy in public. To see him rage on the pitch, like he did today in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Liverpool, is extremely rare.

In other words, it takes a lot to set him off, and we saw him fuming while on his way to being subbed off at the Turf Moor, and apparently the anger was directed at teammate Mohamed Salah. Mane was seemingly upset at Salah’s decision not to send him a pass while he was in optimal scoring position.

Keys to Julian Love Finding Success with the New York Giants

julian love

It’s a question that has been asked many times since Notre Dame got blown out by Clemson 30-3 in the Cotton Bowl semifinal last season- what if Julian Love had been able to play the entire game? What if the best cover corner in college football last year didn’t have to miss a significant portion of the game in order to enter concussion protocol?

The game was still close when Love exited, and the stats show that Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence didn’t start completing deep passes for massive gains until the Westchester, Illinois native left the field.

Notre Dame Secondary Perhaps 2019’s Most Intriguing Position Group

There are numerous strengths on this 2019 Notre Dame football team, most notably the depth at defensive end, experience on both lines and of course the return of starting quarterback Ian Book. However, the most intriguing position group might be the secondary.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said at Media Day that the team’s number one key to success this season will be their ability to stop the run, and the defensive backs will be a big factor into that equation. It’s also going to be fascinating to see who steps up to replace Julian Love, the CB1 of all CB1s last fall.

2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Season Preview, Predictions

Last season you saw just how close, but yet at the same time also how far the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are to winning their first national title since 1988. The Fighting Irish didn’t give eventual national champion Clemson much of a fight, with the game result settled by midway through the second quarter.

Like the best roller skates available on the market today, Clemson absolutely rolled Alabama in the national title game, in a manner even more lopsided than how they handled Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl semifinal. Early preseason polls believe Clemson will just keep on rolling past everybody this year too.

Pep Guardiola Has Interesting Take on Why Alexis Sanchez Flopped at United

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola worked with Alexis Sanchez at FC Barcelona, and he came close to signing the forward from Arsenal on summer transfer window deadline day 2017. In January of 2018, Manchester United came in and outspent City for the services of the Chilean.

The move backfired badly for Old Trafford as Alexis flopped massively and MUFC are now paying him NOT to play for them as he has now gone out on loan to Inter Milan for the season. Sanchez, the highest paid player in United history, only scored five times during the season and a half that he has with the Red Devils.

Arsenal FC Send Nacho Monreal to Spain, Mohamed Elneny to Turkey

arsenal fc transfer rumors-tottenham

As the summer transfer window winds down across the rest of Europe, Arsenal FC have jettisoned a couple of players. In the words of Homer J. Simpson “nacho nacho nacho man, I got to be a nacho man;” yes Nacho Monreal has seen his six and a half year spell with Arsenal come to an end.

The Spanish defender, who started three games this season and wore the captain’s arm band versus Burnley FC, has moved to Real Sociedad on a two year deal.

Inability to Finish is the Worst of Manchester United’s Issues

Once again Manchester United controlled possession (59%-41%), had more shots (21-10) and put more of those shots on goal (8-2) than their opponent. Once again the Red Devils dropped points, as they just can’t finish. Why isn’t this team more clinical?

“We are one down, to be fair, but we just didn’t find the right one,” United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of the striker situation on his roster during his press conference ahead of today’s 1-1 draw with Southampton. “We didn’t find the answer that we wanted.”

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction for North London Derby

Sunday brings a renewal of one of the Premier League’s most spirited rivalries- the North London derby. In looking at the series history, Arsenal have won the majority of the previous entanglements with Tottenham Hotspur, as they 82 wins, to go against Spurs’ 64 victories and 52 draws.

Arsenal, much like last season, are a whole lot better at home than on the road. However, Tottenham did get a win at the Emirates last season, a 2-0 League Cup win. However, it’s been awhile since Arsenal lost at home to Spurs in league play (2010).

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction for North London Derby

Tottenham Hotspur heads to Arsenal for the first north London derby of the 2019-20 season, and it’s a clash that sees two arch-rivals badly in need of a win. Both sides lost in disheartening fashion last weekend albeit for very different reasons.

For the Gunners, it was same old same old, in terms of very poor away form. For Spurs, it was a very surprising home loss to Newcastle, a side that many believe will be in the relegation scrap. Neither side wants to head into the long international break with another disappointment, piled on top of the one they’re already recovering from.

North London Derby Team News: Alli, Sessegnon, Ozil, Holding

The marquee matchup in the final weekend before the first set of internationals is the good old North London Derby. Last year saw Arsenal FC take four points, and Tottenham Hotspur just one from the two annual meetings. The Gunners won a wild one on the first Sunday of December 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

The reverse fixture at the national stadium, one of the last that Spurs had to play at Wembley, ended in a 1-1 draw this past March. Arsenal enter the latest edition of the derby third in the table, with six points, while Spurs come into this one seventh, having taken four points from the first three fixtures.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction at Burnley FC

As Liverpool FC are currently topping the Premier League table, we’ve also seen the Reds, deservedly so, in the penthouse spot on many a media outlet’s global power rankings. A significant reason for this is back-up goalkeeper Adrian.

Just as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will tell you, the summer transfer window acquisition has filled in nicely for the injured Alisson this season thus far.

As table topping Liverpool head into their final match before the first international break, at Burnley FC on Sunday, their primary fitness concern revolves around their No. 1 Alisson Becker. At his media briefing ahead of the clash at the Turf Moor, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said that Alisson is progressing along, making strides on the comeback trail from his calf injury.

“He has made steps of course, but it was a proper injury, so it will still take time,” Klopp said. “How it always is with professional sportsmen, when you have a muscle thing and it takes long, then it takes a while as well until you can bring the muscle to at least the same level it was before.”
