Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Cardiff City

Arsenal FC have to be feeling very good this weekend, as they’re both coming off a victory and getting their brand name star player back. Mesut Ozil missed this past Saturday’s win over West Ham United due to an illness (at least that is the official word), but he has recovered now and trained all week with the rest of the squad.

We predict he returns to the first team when ninth place Arsenal travels to the capital of Wales, and takes on 15th place Cardiff City. Let’s take a look at who might be joining him on the pitch during kick-off of this fixture.

Manchester United vs Burnley FC Match Preview, Injury Report

Manchester United head to the Turf Moor on Sunday badly needing a result. The bad news is, obviously, how poor their form has been lately. The good news is the side is getting much healthier and fit now. More players who were hurt are now coming back into the team. Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo is back in training but still not yet available for selection.

The only new injury is to Phil Jones, who was subbed off of the loss to Tottenham Hostpur with a suspected hamstring injury. He is likely to be replaced in the starting XI by Chris Smalling.

Manchester United Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Burnley

Manchester United head to the Turf Moor to take on Burnley this weekend in a Premier League fixture that they really got to have. Old Trafford is dysfunction junction right now, but winning cures everything, and United are favored to emerge victorious on the road here.

Manager Jose Mourinho just gave a very colorful press conference, in which he truly ramped up the boasting and bragging. He also continued being contentious with the media. Let’s take a look at United’s roster situation and predict who the Portugese could select for this one.

Jose Mourinho References Hegel, Declares Himself Among the Greatest

jose mourinho

Instead of “the special one,” maybe we should call Jose Mourinho “the boastful one.” The Manchester United manager, who angrily walked out on reporters the last time he did a media opportunity, kicked his boasting and braggadocio up another notch at his Friday press conference.

Mourinho melted down at his last presser, muttering the word “respect” over and over again as he stormed out of the Q&A session early. Today, he declared himself one of the greatest managers in the world and made reference to Georg Wilhem Friedrich Hegel, a German philosopher and prominent figure of the German idealism movement.

RB Jeremy Larkin the Constant, as Northwestern Shuffles QBs in Win over Purdue

jeremy larkin

When the Northwestern football community speaks of tonight’s 31-27 upset win at Purdue, the first topic will undoubtedly be the rotating quarterbacks that Coach Pat Fitzgerald and his staff employed. QB1 Clayton Thorson and QB2 T.J. Green alternated series, and if this confuses you, well, we’ll get to that later.

And we promise you, you’ll feel even more confused. While that narrative is obviously the lead, and it will receive plenty of analysis and discussion this week, perhaps the true main story tonight was Jeremy Larkin; NU’s new starter at the tailback position.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs AFC Bournemouth

Chelsea are one of four teams in the Premier League that are off to a perfect start this season and squad fitness is a major reason why. Manager Maurizio Sarri hasn’t had any real serious injury concerns on the young season, and thus no selection headaches to deal with.

The Italian is also a creature or habit, so one should not expect him to make any changes from the team he put out on the pitch at Newcastle United when he takes on AFC Bournemouth tomorrow. The Cherries will present a good challenge for Sarri and company, as they have two wins and one draw thus far.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri could become the sixth manager to win his first four Premier League matches tomorrow when the Blues host AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Three of the five, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti, accomplished the feat while leading Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola and Craig Shakespeare are the other two, just in case you’re scoring at home. Sarri brings what is basically a fully fit squad to this match-up, so you got to like the Blues’ chances at home here.

Sergio Ramos Trolls Mohamed Salah with Shoulder Pat at UEFA Awards

sergio ramos mo salah

Whomever decided to seat Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos right behind Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah at the UEFA Awards Ceremony tonight certainly has a sense of humor. Or tremendous acumen for producing reality television moments.

Ramos received the award for best defender in last year’s UEFA competition, and upon exiting the stage and returning to his seat he gave Salah a pat on his shoulder. Yes, the same shoulder that the Spaniard inflicted serious damage upon during an incident at the UCL Final in Kiev last May.

Ronaldo Will Return to Old Trafford as United, Juventus Drawn in Same UCL Group

Cristiano Ronaldo will play at Old Trafford for the first time since 2013 as Juventus and Manchester United were slotted together in Group H of the UEFA Champions League draw today. Valencia and Young Boys complete the grouping.

Ronaldo has only faced his former team three times since he left the club for Real Madrid in 2009. He has played on the visiting team only once at the Theatre of Dreams since leaving the Red Devils, in a two-legged round-of-16 Champions League tie in 2013.

Liverpool FC vs Leicester City Injury Report, Match Preview

leicester city king power stadium

Week four of the Premier League commences with top of the table Liverpool visiting 7th place Leicester City. With no true headliner fixture this weekend, this clash is about as highly anticipated as any on the docket. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has lived up to the hype and his price tag thus far, as the Reds have yet to concede a goal this season.

They come in with wins over West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion. Leicester enter the match having lost to Manchester United (a defeat that is not aging well), but beaten Southampton and Wolverhampton.
