Brian Kelly FINALLY talks about Prince Shembo, Lizzy Seeberg case

Notre Dame football Coach Brian Kelly finally speaks publicly about the death of Lizzy Seeberg.

The case was never tried in court, but it is once again being heard in the court of public opinion after former Notre Dame football player Prince Shembo admitted that he was the player investigated for sexually assaulting her. Shembo claimed innocence at the NFL Scouting Combine, and the coverage of his remarks led to Tom Seeberg, the father of Lizzy Seeberg to speak with the media about the case and how Notre Dame handled it.

But now, four years later, we finally hear from Brian Kelly on the situation.

Manchester United targeting Tottenham Hotspur winger

This seems like a transfer rumor that’s come out of nowhere. Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon to Manchester United. There’s a lot of credibility to the rumor. it just doesn’t seem like the type of move that make a lot of sense.

Still David Moyes has that £300 million summer trust fund ready. And a portion of it could be to buy Lennon as a replacement for Antonio Valencia.

Combine draft stock: 3 who earned a 1st round grade, 3 who fell out

Now that the NFL Scouting Combine is over, here’s our biggest winners and losers. Or three stock up and three stock down. Here’s three who came to Indianapolis without a first round grade, but now stand a very good chance of hearing their names called on draft night. Conversely, three who fell out of the first round with a bad performance.

How to suck at Twitter, see Alex Morgan, Danica Patrick accounts

Alex Morgan and Danica Patrick content has been really good to me. My material on both of these young star female athletes has delivered the goods in the page views and the SEO department. Therefore, I don’t want to be too harsh on Danica or Alex Morgan. And I’m not going to. I’m criticizing the PR person/publicist/press agent etc. who does their tweeting for them. I’m not criticizing Patrick or Morgan themselves.

Danica Patrick just hit 1 million on followers on Twitter the yesterday, the first NASCAR driver to ever hit that mark. It made me wonder why so many people follow her, despite the fact that her account has zero news value about 90% of the time.

Tottenham Hotspur fight vs DNipro (VIDEO)

Complete insanity today at White Hart Lane, but Spurs triumphed nonethless.

Below you’ll see a slow motion version of the Jan Vertonghen vs Roman Zozulya incident that led to Zozulya’s ejection. Tottenham Hotspur beat DNipro 3-1. And you can see the reaction from both sides as the ref issued the red card, and Tottenham Hotspur took advantage.

Danica Patrick looks to not crash 2 cars in Phoenix homecoming race

Danica Patrick finished 27th in the standings last year (there are usually 43 cars running in each Sprint Cup) during her first season of full time Cup racing. So it’s fitting that she started 27th at the Daytona 500. She got caught up in a wreck that was not her fault (GIF here) and it led to a 37th place finish. She also wreck during Speedweeks, so not totaling two cars at Phoenix would be a step in the right direction.

Not crashing one car in an upgrade in itself.

Robin van Persie very unhappy at Man United, considering leaving

Current Manchester United star striker Robin Van Persie is featured in a new FIFA World Cup video promotion. Robin Van Persie may be on a completely different team by the time the actual event rolls around. It’s been a rough year for RVP,  he’s been out of sight, recovering from injury as the Premier League side of which he is apart has been falling apart. van Persie called his team’s form “lousy” in the 2-0 Champions League loss to Olympiacos. And explicitly blamed his teammates for the loss.

It’s been a disastrous year for Manchester United and Robin van Persie, and the Dutch star is quite unsettled. With roughly six months until the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, of which RVP will undoubtedly be huge for Holland, he needs to get content again.

Chicago Blackhawks: What to expect going forward

Patrick Sharp

Thank God the Chicago Blackhawks and NHL are back. The lackluster Winter Olympics hockey tournament will give way to what really matters: the push towards the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Blackhawks are in very good position to make another run at the Cup, but there are a few things to take note of prior to the postseason.

The Hawks head to the Big Apple to take on the New York Rangers in an Original Six matchup Thursday evening. The game will be Chicago’s first game since breaking for the Olympics. The one thing to watch for in this game is how well the 10 Chicago Blackhawks who went to Sochi look back on North American soil. The Rangers will be without Olympian winger Mats Zuccarello because of a hand injury he sustained in Russia. [Read more…]
