For the Michigan Wolverines, tailback Fitz Toussaint will be a major player this season. He’ll be one of the top rushers in the Big Ten, but he won’t be playing in week one. Here’s what Michigan coach Brady Hoke had to say in a statement:

Welcome to The Sports Bank’s third annual college basketball season preview series. Two years we looked at 99 teams in 99 days. Last year, we were slightly more aggressive and expanded to 111 teams in 111 days and will do so again as we look ahead to the 2012-2013 season.
We will rank the 75 power conference teams and top 36 mid-majors in reverse power ranking order. We’ll break down rosters, transfers, incoming freshmen, non-conference schedules, and pick a player to watch for each team.
The 15th seeded Lehigh Mountain Hawks shocked the world by knocking off second seeded Duke in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. With star shooting guard C.J. McCollum and three other starters returning, Lehigh won’t sneak up on anybody this year.

Northern Iowa vs. #12 Wisconsin Badgers: Brutally Honest Preview

For the seventh consecutive season, the Wisconsin Badgers will play a team from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) or otherwise known as your “cupcakes” of the college football world.
Even if the Northern Iowa Panthers are coming off a 10-3 season, it shouldn’t matter much to the Badgers who have obliterated FCS foes by an average of roughly 31 points per game.
What is unique about this game is the fact that the Panthers are visiting Camp Randall for the Badgers season opener and not the third or fourth game like teams from the FCS have commonly done in years before.

Follow paulmbanksChicago Bears season outlook: first quarter
Week 4 of the preseason is upon us. Veterans and rookies alike will anxiously await the announcement of the final roster in the days following the Bears matchup against the Browns.
The roster will make its way from 75 players down to the final 53, and many fringe players will have to put it all on the line this Thursday to earn the right to continue playing on Sundays.
The final roster is not yet set, but it’s safe to say that this year’s team is one of the most talented groups to don the navy and orange uniforms. Even though the NFC North is one of the most feared divisions in the NFL, general consensus still remains that the Bears will be making a deep postseason run.
But every team’s hopes are high at the moment. Everyone still has a 0 in the loss column and 16 games to play.
So I’ve decided to take an in depth look at the schedule and try to justify the hype surrounding the Bears. I too believe the Bears will win at least 10 games, march into the playoffs, and will hopefully be playing on the Sunday in February that matters most. But maybe I’m just blinded by bias.
