Disney is an imperial brand. And that brand is built on their corporate motto of “family magic.” And being a very high-priced call girl is not very family-friendly. So in the wake of three-time Olympic runner, and most decorated female track and field star in Big Ten history Suzy Favor Hamilton being out as a $600 Vegas escort, it was only a matter of the time before Favor Hamilton was removed from a Disney event.
According to the Orange County Register, Disney has canceled an upcoming appearance she was supposed to make at Disneyland. On Wednesday, Disney issued a press release stating that the three-time Olympian would speak during the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend next August. Hamilton’s story broke the next day, took off like wild fire and now the news release no longer includes her appearance.
Favor Hamilton has done Disney appearances before tweeting on Feb 27th
“Fantastic time at the Disney Princess Half Marathon! Little sore today but can’t want to actually train for the next one :)”
And again on Feb 25th
“Enjoyed meeting many new friends at the Disney Expo yesterday :) You all rock!”
Favor Hamilton is a Madison native and Badgers legend. So Wisconsin fans be proud! #sarcasm
