According to the Independent, striker Saido Berahino has been told by West Bromwich Albion team-mate Ben Foster to stop doing ‘silly things’, close his social media accounts and buckle down for a relegation battle.
Berahino has been the subject of two long protracted transfer sagas that ended up going nowhere during the past two transfer windows. Saido Berahino wanted his move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, White Hart Lane submitted their bids, and WBA rejected them.
Berahino Tweeted his disgust with the situation and his yearning to be set free to another club. West Brom didn’t care for that too much; as you might expect.
This window, Berahino again didn’t get the transfer move that he wanted. Again he expressed his discontent on social media. In the mean time, his level of play dropped off considerably. His attitude has now come into question, and scared off potential future suitors.
According to the Daily Star, West Brom keeper Ben Foster has told Saido Berahino to shut down his Twitter and Instagram accounts. That might be a very good idea actually. Almost every athlete alive thinks personal brand first whenever they communicate in public, and that includes social media.
