5 players likely to be dealt by NBA Trade Deadline

Plenty of names will be floated around in the next week-plus as the NBA trade deadline approaches on March 15th.  Here is a list of the five players I think will be dealt in the next week-plus and which teams might be interested in acquiring said player.  (I didn’t include Dwight Howard on this list because I don’t think the Orlando Magic pull the trigger on a deal.)

NBA Trade Deadline: Possible suitors for the Timberwolves’ Michael Beasley

michael beasley trade

Plenty of names will be floated around in the next week-plus as the NBA trade deadline approaches on March 15th.  Over the next week, I am going to take a look at which players are likely to be dealt and what teams might be interested in acquiring said player.  Michael Beasley‘s name has been on the trade block since the Minnesota Timberwolves used the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft on Derrick Williams.  With the T-Wolves signing Kevin Love to a max deal extension, it’s almost certain Beasley will be traded since he doesn’t seem to be part of Minnesota’s long-term plan.

Five Players Most Likely to be Traded Once NBA Lockout Ends

michael beasley timberwolves

The NBA Lockout has frozen everything exciting about the off-season; no trades, no free agency, no “The Decisions.”  And depending on what is negotiated by the owners and players in a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the rules of free agency and trades could forever be altered; especially if a discussed hard salary cap is in fact instated.

Once the lockout does end, there should be a plethora of moves both in free agency and via trades as teams will likely have to scramble to fill out their rosters before the season begins.  Here is a look at the five players most likely to be traded whenever the lockout does come to an end.

Draft Day Scenarios for the Timberwolves

What to do at number two?

No, it’s not the beginning of a Dr. Seuss book; it’s the NBA draft dilemma that Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn is faced with just hours before Thursday’s draft.

Nash to the Timberwolves? Makes Sense For Both Teams

On paper, Steve Nash to the Timberwolves seems like it would never work. Especially if the main trade chip being sent to Phoenix is Jonny Flynn.

That trade seems less likely than coach Eric Taylor and Vince Howard’s dad becoming friends. (Yes, I’m watching the NBC version like it’s in real time.)

I would argue Nash to the Timberwolves makes great sense for both the Suns and the Timberwolves.

NBA Trade Machine Challenge: Blow Up Pistons’ Roster

rip hamilton tayshaun prince

The Sports Guy refers to himself as the Picasso of ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine.  Well if he is Picasso then The Sports Bank’s Peter Christian and David Kay are the da Vinci and van Gogh of the trade machine (though neither would cut their own ear off while working on a trade… or at least I don’t think.)

In this new feature, Peter and David will play the role of NBA general manager since they are likely more intelligent than half of the GM’s out there.  One will propose a challenge to the other to make a trade happen with certain requirements and the other will accept the mission like he were Tom Cruise and explain why all parties involved would pull the trigger on the deal.
