New York Jets 2012 Fantasy Football Preview

The New York Jets are a perfect example of how the offseason’s main story lines can have little impact on the fantasy relevance of a team. If you haven’t heard, the Jets acquired Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos, kicking off a entirely over-dramatic quarterback controversy which most likely doesn’t exist.

In this preview, I’ll assume that Mark Sanchez is the starter with Tebow coming in for special packages which in essence will make both Sanchez and Tebow relatively undraftable in most fantasy leagues.

Jets reporters, NO ONE cares about Tim Tebow practice interceptions

Performances in NFL OTAs matter about as much NHL games in September, garbage time minutes in October NBA games, spring college football and split squad spring training scrimmages in MLB. So why is it headline news that Tim Tebow that threw two picks at New York Jets organized team activities? WHO CARES?

Why is it breaking news that he doesn’t know the offense yet? He just got there. I know Tebow is and is going to be the most highly covered backup QB in NFL history, but there’s still a limit. Enough is enough. Do we need another day when ESPN devoted an entire SportsCenter to him and mentioned his name once every 15 seconds or whatever it was?

Jets QB Tim Tebow booed at Yankees game

New York is a tough crowd, Tim Tebow is learning. I guess Mark Sanchez has more support than we all thought.

The new backup quarterback for the New York Jets was loudly booed at Yankee Stadium Sunday night when he was shown on the jumbotron- despite the fact that he was sporting a New York Yankees cap.
