Redick who went from Orlando to Milwaukee.  Ish.  Here are the winners and losers of the 2013 NBA Trade Deadline.

james harden rockets

I’m at a Halloween party Saturday night; Lucky Strike cigarette hanging out on my mouth, glass of a scotch in my hand (I went as Don Draper from Mad Men) when I get a text that the Oklahoma City Thunder traded James Harden to the Houston Rockets.  I had the same look on my face that Don did when his wife Megan sang “Zou Bisou Bisou” in front of their friends at his 40th birthday party; one of shock and pure amazement.

The deal seemed to come from nowhere as I had seen no rumor tweeted or written anywhere leading up to the deal.  Here is my breakdown of the trade.

L.A. Clippers Trade for Chris Paul; Roll the Dice on Future

chris paul clippers

As I suggested in this article back in May, the Los Angeles Clippers seemed to be a realistic trade partner for the New Orleans Hornets and Chris Paul.  After a week of rumors and vetoed trade proposals by David Stern, CP3 has finally been dealt to the Clips for three players headlined by Eric Gordon along with a first round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.  It is a risky deal for L.A. who somewhat mortgages their future with the hope that Paul will stick with the Clippers and not leave via free agency in the summer.

Once the lockout does end, there should be a plethora of moves both in free agency and via trades as teams will likely have to scramble to fill out their rosters before the season begins.  Here is a look at the five players most likely to be traded whenever the lockout does come to an end.
