kanye-west-big-ten-football

Can’t leave Big Ten football alone the game needs me. Notorious B.I.G. once said that he raps about the ghetto because that’s what he knows. And…”if I worked at McDonald’s, I’d be rapping about Big Macs and fries.”

You write and talk what you know and live. And I know Big Ten football. We’re still a ways away from Big Ten football media days. Well, less than two weeks now. The preseason is indeed here, time for some WAY TOO Early Big Ten football power rankings

University of Michigan football sophomore cornerback Blake Countess (Owings Mills, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) will miss the remainder of the 2012 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in last Saturday’s game against Alabama. brady_hoke

In his first season, Michigan Wolverines coach Brady Hoke brought the big blue back from mediocrity into a BCS bowl. What can he do for an encore? It all starts with the Alabama Crimson Tide game in the season opener. Hoke answered a lot of questions at media day about the season ahead and the Bama game.

Michigan Wolverines’ Taylor Lewan: next big OL NFL Prospect

The Big Ten has been great at producing offensive linemen prospects for he NFL lately. The Wisconsin Badgers are a factory, but there’s also been a bunch in the few year coming out from the Illinois Fighting Illini, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

Who’s the next Jake Long? Maybe Michigan junior left tackle Taylor Lewan.

Part of what makes these o linemen from the league so tough is who they’re constantly facing off with- great defensive lines, Whether in practice scrimmaging or in game, so many linemen are practicing their craft vs strong defensive lines.

2012 Big Ten Power Rankings: post media day edition

michigan-wolverines-cheerleaders

These are highly subject to change. Brady Hoke remarked at Media Day that UM was picked fifth in their division a year ago; and just outside the top 25 in the year they won their last national title- 1997.

So maybe these rankings don’t really mean all that much? Of course, that won’t stop you from reading them and commenting, right?

Wolverines Land Top Recruiting Class in Big 10; Top 10 Nationally

michigan wolverines

The Wolverines Sugar Bowl win over Virginia Tech is reason for optimism, especially considering that it came in the first year of what many U of M fans hope is a long and illustrious tenure for head coach Brady Hoke. But it would be premature to say that Michigan is now ready to compete for national championships on a yearly basis.

(guest post from Christopher Johnson, Big Ten or Bust.com)

Yet unlike the previous three years, in which wolverines’ fans despaired over the failed Rich Rod experiment, the Maize and Blue appear to be trending upward. An 11-2 season was a good start, but Hoke has continued to impress by assembling what appears to be one of the nation’s top recruiting classes.

Michigan’s Brady Hoke Wins National Coach of the Year

brady_hoke

When the college football season started, University of Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke made some very arrogant comments at Big Ten media day. He said “we’re not rebuilding,” and “we’re Michigan” a few times. He proved right, and us media types wrong as he was selected as the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year for the 2011 season.

Hoke wasn’t the Wolverines first choice, or even the second or third, but the “Michigan Man” was named the 19th head coach in University of Michigan football history on Jan. 11, 2011.

Need a Football Fix? Brutally Honest Preview Greatest Hits

ohio-state_michigan

No one cares about the Pro Bowl. And the NHL All-Star game is too obscure to even rip on.

So what will you do on this football-less weekend?

Well, I have some ideas from when Nike was gracious enough to set me up for the 2010 Football Media Summit at Dallas Cowboys Stadium. I met a lot of football writers who told me about their…well if they were comedians, their “bits.” The signature segment if you will.

With this site, it’s clearly the mock drafts. Sure, the picture galleries of swimsuit models/cheerleaders/pagaent winners turned sideline reporters gets more traffic. As do the photo galleries of the most aesthetically pleasing female athletes out there.

But our mocks are #1.
