Back and Forth: Packers win a game with five lead-changes

An offensive explosion which seems imminent whenever the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions meet didn’t happen. What did happen was a back-and-forth game dictated by turnovers.

The Packers (7-3) Aaron Rodgers wasn’t perfect, but his throws were on the money when they counted as he led his team to a fourth-quarter, 24-20 comeback win.

Green Bay Packers 2012 preseason schedule; erase sour 2011 memories

Given the way 2011 ended for the Green Bay Packers, with that bitter, stomach-churning upset to the New York Giants in the postseason. Which shut the door on the promising, dominating 15-1 regular season, and opened the door for the 9-7 Giants to beat the New England Patriots and win the Super Bowl. (In other words, a NFL version of the 83-79 St. Louis Cardinals winning the 2006 World Series)

Time is already here to move on to 2012.

And the Pack preseason schedule is already out.

Green Bay Packers draft: mocking the first couple picks

The Green Bay Packers led the NFL in passing yards allowed last season. Therefore, they’re going to focus on DBs and and pass-rushers first and foremost in the 2012 NFL draft right? Not so fast my friend. What about a tight end if Jermichael Finley leaves? What about the running back situation?

Then we must consider the fact that Ted Thompson is as much a “value GM” as there can be possibly be, so team needs will play much less of a factor than we think they should.

Crying Female Packers Fan Takes Playoff Loss Hard (Video)

Meet Green Bay Packers fan Casey Lewis. The stunning upset loss to the New York Giants last Sunday made her rather emotional. This video is a very good cautionary tale for and about cheeseheads everywhere.

Casey seems to believe in a lot of the same superstitions as other sports fans. That what jersey you wear actually makes a difference, whether or not you paint sparkes in your fingernails (yeah, this is always an agonizing decision for me on game day) affects the outcome of the game.

My favorite part of the video though is when Lewis mocks/imitates her friend through her tears.

More importantly, at least she didn’t go violent after the loss, like this Cheesehead woman did.

Enjoy the vid after the jump; Miss Wisconsin/America Laura Kaeppler hitting on Aaron Rodgers this is not.

Packers Aaron Rodgers and Graham Harrell Join Fraternity!

“Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers, your new pledge name is….” “Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Graham Harrell, it is tim.”

That’s right both the Pack 1st and 3rd string signal callers have joined a fraternity, the same exact one actually. As of January 5th, 2012 6pm CT, both men became members of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Drunk Packers Fan Abuses her Child in Response to Green Bay Loss

The Green Bay Packers loss turned exceedingly ugly off the field for a rural Wisconsin family. The Appleton Post-Crescent reported Tuesday that a drunk 36-year-old woman became so upset by the Packers loss to the K.C. Chiefs Sunday that she actually choked her daughter twice.

Next Penn State Coach: Packers QB Coach Tom Clements?

Penn State University has been in contact with Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements about the Nittany Lions’ newly open coaching position.

How much actual legitimacy there is to his candidacy depends on how much you believe of what you hear and how much you believe those sources.

A source close to Clements told ESPN’S Chris Mortensen on Friday:

“There is no telephone interview or conversation that is scheduled between Tom and Penn State, there never has been one scheduled, nor is there anything scheduled in the foreseeable future.”

However, the source conceded there had been “minimal dialogue” between the two sides and that Clements had notified the Packers about the contact, but “everyone agreed to stay focused on the task at hand with the (Packers).”

But there’s more:

Green Bay Packers Could be Hurting at LB Position due to Erik Walden Arrest

Shortly after the Green Bay Packers’ 27-15 Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions, linebacker Erik Walden was arrested on a Felony Battery charge and awaits court on Monday morning.

The dispute reportedly took place Friday morning at 2:30 am at an apartment complex where the 26-year-old Walden had an altercation with his girlfriend.

If the alleged crime is true, the undefeated Packers (11-0) could be facing some serious problems at the linebacker position where the team has already been stretched low because of injuries. [Read more…]

Ndamukong Suh Apology for Appalling Actions Falls Flat

Ndamukong Suh is the most talented defensive player in the NFL. In addition, he is emotionally unstable and unwilling to be accountable for his actions. In a postgame press conference, he attempted to explain away why he was slamming an opposing player’s head in to the ground before stomping on him after the completion of a play.

That was almost as appalling as the fans’ reaction to Nickelback being named for the halftime performance. Much like the Jim Schwartz handshake controversy with Jim Harbaugh, this is simply a sideshow that takes away from the fact that the Green Bay Packers destroyed the Lions on the field.

Green Bay Packers Blow Out Detroit Lions in Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl

No absence of storylines from the 2011 “Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl” between the Green Bay Packers an the Detroit Lions. You had:

-the Lions failing to live up to expectations/Matt Stafford throwing three picks

-Green Bay winning in dominant fashion 27-8, despite playing UGLY football for a half

-The Detroit fans getting a petition passed to prevent the crappy, overrated pop act Nickelback from playing at halftime

-Would this match-up of two potentially playoff bound NFC North teams live up to night back featuring two first place teams (San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens)

However, the real story here was Ndamukong Suh getting kicked out of the game early in the second half.
