Chicago Bears Predictions: Week One

Chicago Bears Predictions

It’s that time of year again, folks; time for “Joestradamus” to bust out the crystal ball and make Chicago Bears predictions for 2013.

Remind me to have my legal people to look into getting “Joestradamus” trademarked, I think I’m onto something here.

Last year in my prediction series, I correctly called the first eight Chicago Bears predictions en route to a 7-1 start. Things got a bit sketchy in the third quarter when I called for three more victories while the Bears were only able to eek out one.

Let’s also not mention that I never predicted the final four games of the season…

But fear not! I’ve been inspired by the news of J’Marcus Webb signing with the Vikings to find my prime predicting form from the first half of last season.

Without further ado, I give you my first installment of my annual foray into clairvoyance.

Cincinnati Bengals 2012 Fantasy Football Preview

Cincinnati may not be the prettiest of cities these days, but that doesn’t mean the Bengals aren’t anticipating a successful year on the gridiron. The Bengals are a young and upcoming team who can easily surpass the 21.5 points per game (18th in the league) they scored last season and realistically compete with the rest of the AFC North which doesn’t look nearly as lopsided as it has in the past decade.

Here are the guys in Cincinnati that you should have on your list come time to do the fantasy draft. [Read more…]

There are a few runners who will impress this week and are still available on waiver wires, and a couple passers who you should keep your eye on. In today’s rankings, we’ll break down the top fantasy football quarterbacks and running backs.

New England Patriots Find New Tailback in Stevan Ridley?

How much longer are the New England Patriots going to go with the Law Firm and Woodhead approach at tailback? Don’t get me wrong, it’s working for them, both BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead are serviceable to solid, but I wonder if they’ll ever bring back a feature back mentality.

The last bulk carrier was Corey Dillon and that was over three years ago. Many draftniks thought they were going to take Trent Richardson’s predecessor in Alabama- Mark Ingram, but it didn’t happen. Instead Ingram went to the Miami Dolphins.

We’re three weeks into the fantasy football season and the surprises just keep on coming. Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford are top-10 fantasy quarterbacks. Coe College alum Fred Jackson is the third best fantasy back. And how about Scott Chandler, who had one catch before this year, picking up four scores in the first three weeks. Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: The Injury Bug Bites

It shouldn’t surprise any of us. In a game as violent as football, injuries are bound to happen. Top-5 pick Jamaal Charles is out for season. Miles Austin is out until October 16th. Let’s not even get started on Peyton Manning.  Much like their professional counterparts, fantasy owners need to find ways to fill the void left by their injured players. Included in this week’s rankings, I’ll list some guys that could step in for your injured star this week.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings: Building on a strong week

If we learned one thing about the NFL in week one: the lockout certainly did not slow down the offensive numbers.  A ridiculous 14 quarterbacks had more than 300 yards, four of which went over 400. 13 receivers topped 100 yards, including seven double-digit touchdown performances. Needless to say, fantasy teams weren’t suffering. Now it’s time to build on that success and dominate week two of the fantasy season.
