Ready to buy some Kentucky Derby hats for this weekend?

The Kentucky Derby- the one weekend out of the year that everyone wants to be engulfed in KY. (I’m referring to the state, not the jelly, you dirty mind!) The annual Running of the Roses at Churchill Downs in Louisville is a big media and social event.

And lots of attractive women sporting cocktail dresses, mint juleps and those ostentatious, absurdly large-brimmed hats. Kentucky Derby hats. Those Kentucky Derby hats are officially called “fascinators;” although they’re sometimes referred to as portrait hats, picture hats or cocktail hats.

In the gallery below (be sure click on each pic for a larger view) I made sure to mix it up with everyday girls next door and some famous celebrities. And since we’re discussing hot women from the bluegrass state in Kentucky Derby hats, you might like the gallery of Ashley Judd in UK Wildcats gear.

Most of these pics originate from “Millionaire’s Row.” But I did thrown in one from the infield- I think you’ll be able to guess which one it is. Indeed this post has an actual social class war going on within itself.

Erin Andrews (insert career in decline joke here)

Jersey Shore comes to Kentucky! Obviously, no Kentucky Derby hats here! I’m feeling unclean just looking at this.

Miss Kentucky, and Miss Teen Kentucky

Paris Hilton (Insert Brian Urlacher joke here!)

Heidi Montag (insert joke…nah, too easy a target. Waste of ammunition)

I like this one the best. These women in Kentucky Derby look genuine and real.
