Purdue didn’t defeat Notre Dame, but at least they covered the spread. (Hence the Bart Simpson GIF above) The Boilermakers gave a noble effort in a match-up in which most observers felt they had zero chance. The Fighting Irish won by 16 in a game that was pretty close for three quarters and change. We learned a lot:
-Everett Golson is invaluable to ND
-Cam McDaniel is the best tailback on the Irish roster
-Danny Etling is Purdue’s QB1; ending the quarterback controversy
-Just when you think the NBC announcers and commentators couldn’t be any more biased in favor of ND; they ramp up the homerism
-The mindless “adversity” cliche used by coaches/players/announcers/”journalists” gets more and more annoying and irritating by the week
So here’s recapping the Shamrock Series, won by Notre Dame 30-14, in tweets
Michigan breakup: Curse bitterly while ND moves on to someone else. Purdue breakup: Throw all of ND’s things on the lawn and burn them.

B1G! Feel the excitement! RT @BGI_AndrewOwens: If #NotreDame beats Purdue, the Big Ten will be 1-10 against Power 5 opponents (and ND).

I think Tom Hammond may want to call his doctor. He has had a 4-hour erection. — Travis Miller (@HammerAndRails) September 14, 2014
At least we don’t have to worry about watching NBC’s announcers until 2021.

Welp, good to know that IU sucks too

Still better than Michigan — Beneath The Paint (@BeneathThePaint) September 14, 2014
Oh good lord ND, color guy. The coverage wasn’t there and it wasn’t a good job by the defender. he overthrew him.

As usual, I’ll close with a couple of my own
Wow those #Purdue helmets are sweet. Love the train tracks. That might be enough to win the #B1G West

#Purdue might just save the entire #B1G West from Premier League style relegation down to the MAC
