I’m sure there is context to this. What that context is and how that it explains what Trent Dilfer said here…I’m not sure I want to know. I’m sure Dilfer has an explanation for this, but my head hurts enough already from having seen and heard this. Further explanation of what the hell this is supposed to mean would only give me a more painful ice cream headache.

Amongst NFL announcers, Twitter loves to rip CBS’ Phil Simms to pieces every Thursday and Sunday. I don’t get it; I think NBC’s Rodney Harrison is much much worse. He says way more dumb-you-down soundbites than Simms.
However, both need to clear the way for Dilfer’s Billy Madisonesque “At no point in your ramblings, were you anywhere close to anything that remotely resembled a coherent thought. We are all dumber for having heard it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul” level statement here.
Kudos to Trent Dilfer for having a sense of humor about it though:
“Glad I was able to enlighten the football audience. Didn’t know I was capable of this type of profound insight,” Dilfer tweeted.
