Every Thursday night and Sunday afternoon Twitter lights up with NFL fans ripping the beJesus out of commentator Phil Simms. I actually find Simms to be…well, he’s not the greatest commentator ever, but he’s also far from the worst. He can be mildly entertaining at times, and sometimes articulate in his opinions.
Although I must admit analysis is definitely not his strong suit. You don’t exactly get smarter by watching any telecast that Phil Simms is a part of.
You do learn a lot when you observe the Phil Simms backlash on Twitter though. You learn how to come up with hilarious and creative ways to insult people.
Simms pairs with Jim Nantz to form CBS’ A-team of announcers, and thus he gets the biggest games with the biggest viewership. With today being a postseason game, even more eyes than usual are upon him, and thus more Twitter users. As the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Miami Dolphins in an AFC Wild Card round match-up, they sometimes discussed football…during their 3 plus hour talk show focused on how cold the weather is.
Phil Simms is currently the #1 trending term on Twitter nationally, and thus we bring you some of the more entertaining Phil Simms critiques on Twitter, enjoy! Also, follow the account dedicated just to endeavors such as this at @philsimmsquotes and the real deal @PhilSimmsQB

It's great that Phil Simms gets to watch the replay and none of us do. Good work, CBS.
