NFL Network’s Michelle Beisner: Cheerleaders Really do Become Sideline Reporters (Pictures)

I’ve been saying for the past couple of years that most of the new sideline reporter hires in sports media are drawing from two pools a.) wannabe actresses/models, note the slash, important to have that slash in there or b.) cheerleaders. The second category was really more of a joke. It made to be cynical of the talent’s “talent.” But this literally has been the case on more than one occasion.

With NFL Network’s Michelle Beisner, it’s literally both categories. She is signed to a modeling/acting talent agency, and she’s a former Denver Broncos cheerleader (I’m sure there will be no bias at all when she reports on the team, none. Absolutely no bias, nope. None at all. No way. The 35-year-old Beisner was one the squad for six years, serving as captain for four, and the Pro Bowl rep in 1999.

Here’s a little more Beisner bio from our friends at Wikipedia

“She is the host of NFL Weekly Countdown, and serves as a field reporter for NFL Total Access and NFL GameDay Morning. She’s also the host of “NFL Network Now”, a news program on NFL Network. She has been a reporter and has worked on “NFL Quarterback Challenge”, and the “Total Access On Location” pre-game show at the Super Bowl.[1] Beisner also serves as host of NFL.com Fantasy LIVE alongside Michael Fabiano, Adam Rank and Dave Dameshek, delivering the most up to date information for fantasy football enthusiasts before Sunday’s games.

Beisner was a recent co-host of “The Russo and Steele Automotive Auctions” on ESPN. Prior to her work with NFL Network, Beisner served a pit reporter for “The Champ Car World Series” on ESPN, host of “The Turbo Tour”, on the Speed Channel, worked as a feature/field reporter for “The Best Damn Sports Show”, host of the “Grand Prix” of Denver, co-host of “The Vista” on Altitude Network, and entertainment emcee for the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and the Colorado Mammoth. She has worked in various reporting capacities for Fox Sports Net, Comcast, Speed Channel, ESPN, CBS, NBC and ABC. She has interviewed many sports figures.

Beisner has also acted in the feature films, Any Given Sunday, and Throttle, and Alice and Wasteland.”

I’m having trouble remembering her in AGS, I’m assuming she was one of the Miami Sharks cheerleaders, but I don’t know. Also, internet rumors have pegged her as one of Stuart Scott’s past booty calls. Of course, there really is no credibility to back that up– at all. But the internet, it’s just full of kooky nuggets of truthiness like that.
