The other 6 and 0 team in the league, the K.C. Chiefs, are in the same division with the 6-0 team you know about, the Denver Broncos in the AFC West. And I guess the K.C. Chiefs are in fact for real. Their pass rush, 31 sacks, has them on track to shatter the 1990 Chief team record and the 1984 Chicago Bears league record.
Tamba Hali and Justin Houston are something special indeed. They’re leading that base 3-4 to the 3rd best pass defense in the NFL. Funny how this is given that the K.C. Chiefs were so terrible last year that they had the first pick in the draft this year. Guess Keyshawn Johnson was right, and I was wrong about the K.C. Chiefs.
SAY IT WITH ME….
….C’MON MAN!
Johnson on the K.C. Chiefs:
“They are my Super Bowl pick. Not to win it, but to get there because of the conference. When you look at this football team and the make-up of this team – nine Pro Bowlers from a year ago. Now with nine Pro Bowlers, they add a coach in Andy Reid, a quarterback in Alex Smith, this looks like a real football team.”
Tony Dungy on the K.C. Chiefs “now you’re getting to see what this defense can do. I’m anxious to see them play Denver because they’ve got the perfect formula. They can run the ball. They’re patient on offense. And defensively they can get pressure without going to maximum blitzes. And so they will give Denver all they can handle for sure. I love that defense. And they’ve got speed and athleticism. They’ve got speed in every part of the defense. Derrick Johnson is an ultra-fast linebacker, and then you’ve got Eric Berry playing great in the secondary. I just think they’ve got a great defensive package.”
Of course, it remains to be seen what happens when the K.C. Chiefs battle the Denver Broncos twice.
