Buffalo Bills fans do not care much for Jon Bon Jovi. The organized grassroots backlash against the washed up 80s rocker has been well documented here. Bills Fan Thunder today expressed their profound gratitude and undying support for the Pegula family, who reportedly won the bidding to buy the NFL franchise and keep it in Buffalo. (Pending league approval and the proverbial drying of the ink on the fine print” of course) The group, fresh off a big win in the ownership stakes, announced it will work to get fans involved in the stadium decision.
“It was a labor of love to organize Bills fans against Jon Bon Jovi and his Toronto henchmen,” Bills Fan Thunder advisor Michael Caputo said.
“The 13,000-plus members of Bills Fan Thunder set out to do one thing: engage fans in killing the pop star’s bid to buy and move our team. Did we succeed? I think the proof is in the news today.”
Bills Fan Thunder founders assembled in late March in the wake of Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson’s death. Their online petition quickly took off and reporters across the country covered their efforts as they organized a widespread boycott of the singer and thousands of emails to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Bon Jovi.
