New York Jets GM John Idzik has certainly been a lightning rod for criticism lately. With the performance of the team that he built, he’s earned it. The Jets, as a whole, have been the laughingstock of the NFL punditocracy for the past month. Here’s a collection of some quips from this past Sunday alone.
And Marshall Faulk’s dig at the Jets receiving corps may have trumped everybody them all.
Although Geno Smith might be out of a job before too long.
Now it’s time for CBSSN’s Brandon Tierney to pile on.
From CBS Sports Network’s “That Other Pregame Shoe (TOPS), on the Percy Harvin trade:
Tierney: “The risk is minimal – financially (and with) draft choices. John Idzik has shown no draft acumen, so a sixth-round (pick) or a fourth-round (pick) means nothing in my world right now if he’s making the picks. But this is Idzik’s way of warming up to the owner, Woody Johnson. Because quite frankly, John Idzik has been a poor GM, period. It’s indisputable. This isn’t about Rex (Ryan) or saving Rex’s job. This is about Idzik saving his own behind, and also trying to insulate the quarterback that he drafted, Geno Smith.”
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! He’s not wrong though.
