The Atlanta Falcons have decided on a coach finally. They passed over recently fired Denver Broncos Coach John Fox, and got their man in Seattle Seahawks Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn. Fox of course took the Chicago Bears job.
The Broncos decided to go with Gary Kubiak as their next coach.
Back to Quinn, he was the hottest coaching commodity this carousel.
He was also a prime candidate last year; but he refused to even interview anywhere. Quinn stayed with the team through the Super Bowl run and turned down an interview opportunity with the Cleveland Browns.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, early Sunday Morning on Dan Quinn and the Atlanta Falcons
“The likelihood is that Dan Quinn is coaching his final game for Seattle today [in Seattle]. This is something the team is very well aware of.
“In fact, I am told they do expect him to be the next head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He is the clear favorite, and privately members of the Falcons brass have told people, ‘We plan to hire Dan Quinn over Teryl Austin.’ So he is likely out in Seattle.
“They do have someone on their staff, Kris Richard, set to replace him. Either way, win or lose Seattle is planning to meet with Quinn on Monday.”
