Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is the second best interview subject on the team this season. Last year, he was the best, but since tight end Martellus Bennett joined the team, B Marsh is now second to Martysaurus Rex/The Black Unicorn. I don’t know who’s third. Or if there even is a third.
But as you’ll see tonight in the big game between the Bears and Steelers, Brandon Marshall admits he cried after the final game last season; a contest in which the Bears were eliminated from the NFL playoffs. Sad, considering they started 7-1.
In an exclusive interview airing tonight on Football Night in America, Marshall sat down with Bob Costas.
The Sports Bank.net has acquired these excerpts.
“Last year was really tough. I think I cried last year on the bus ride home,” Brandon Marshall said of never making the playoffs last year.
The Steelers were the favorite team of Brandon Marshall growing up: “True story. I’m in college in my doom room. I’ve got a Steelers blanket on watching a playoff game – the Steelers vs. the Broncos, and I’m cheering for the Steelers. A few months later I’m drafted by the Broncos…and I still cheer for the Steelers.”
On Jay Cutler: “He really is a brother, on and off the field. He’s one of my best friends. I’m looking forward to ending my career with him.”
Full Brandon Marshall interview airs on Sunday Night Football.
