It will inundate you. We covered the 11th hour for Manning already at this link.
What about post Peyton Manning life in Denver?
Keep that mind as spin through the Sunday NFL talking heads discussing the future of Brock Osweiler and the Denver Broncos.
FOX’s Jay Glazer reports on the future of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning:
“Peyton Manning is dealing with two injuries. He has an injury in the oblique and one on the foot as well. Remember, this is the same guy who played through two torn quads as well. More than anything, it actually came at a very convenient time for the team. Peyton Manning has run one offense for 17 years. All of a sudden, he’s running [head coach] Gary Kubiak’s and, quite frankly, he has just not been effective. So this gives them the opportunity to say, ‘Peyton, sit down and get healthy. We’re going to bring Brock Osweiler in.’ [Osweiler] is a free agent after the year as well. We already know Peyton Manning won’t be there next year. Brock Osweiler, they have to see if he’s going to be the future of the team.
I will tell you this: If Brock Osweiler plays well today, I do think it’s going to be difficult for Peyton Manning to get back in there. Every time you talk to anybody on that team, going into last night they’re like, ‘we cannot wait to see what this kid can do because Kubiak wants his offense run the right way.’”
Terry Bradshaw on Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler: “He’s a big strong-armed kid. One of the good things for Osweiler is that every Wednesday he has taken all the snaps as the starter in practice. They’ll be able to use their entire offensive playbook today – doing the things that Peyton hasn’t been able to do because of injuries.”
12-time NFL Pro-Bowler and former Denver Bronco Champ Bailey talked about how the quarterback play of Brock Osweiler could affect Peyton Manning’s future. Osweiler makes his first start today against the Bears: “If Brock Osweiler goes out, stays healthy and plays well, he’s the future of that franchise and that’s what the Broncos want. They want a quarterback for the future.”
NFL Today on Peyton Manning’s plantar fasciitis injury and Brock Osweiler playing
BILL COWHER: I would give him four weeks rest…I think the biggest thing in those four games is Brock Osweiler. Are you winning in spite of him or because of him? And if you do that, then you make the decision accordingly with Peyton Manning. I would not disrupt it. Listen, this kid and this offensive line, it may be a blessing, because they have not protected him very well. So having the mobility that he (Osweiler) brings to the table may be a better fit. And go back to Gary Kubiak and what he wanted to do in the beginning of the season with the play-action game and boot legs, that may be a better fit right now with Brock Osweiler than it was with Peyton.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport On Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler:
“It is very clear that Brock Osweiler is getting an audition of sorts today and potentially next week as well. Sources say do not be surprised if it is an extended audition for Osweiler as Peyton Manning deals with plantar fasciitis and with a painful rib strain. I am told there is an organizational split now on whether or not Osweiler is the future at quarterback but no one has ruled out the fact that he gets to prove himself to make his case over the next couple weeks. When I talked to people who have seen him work, they say he is more prepared than any backup they have seen. They also say he is going to run Kubiak’s offense like it’s supposed to be run just because he is much more athletic than Peyton Manning.”
