2018 NFL Mock Draft 5-18-17

nfl-draft

Welcome to the 2018 NFL mock draft. Order was based on an amalgam of NFL power rankings from across the internet. If you have issue with the order, well so do many others. That’s what the comments section is for! Just keep it above board and professional in your criticism.

Team needs were not taken into account for the 2018 NFL mock draft as it’s just too early. 2017 NFL Draft picks were mostly not taken into account for our projections.

The Sports Bank is the only independently owned, mom and pop on the internet with a mock draft for the top four American professional sports leagues. Be sure to check out our 2017 NFL mock draft, 2017 NBA mock draft, NBA round two2017 MLB mock draft and coming soon, 2017 NHL mock draft.

And yes, with only 32 picks, some guy that you feel should be a first rounder will be left out!

Also, yes, many of you will strongly disagree with projections here, and with the justification, but try to be respectful about it in the comments section. There is no need for name calling and hateful slurs, try to be the adult in the room as you voice your disagreement.

1.Los Angeles Rams, Sam Darnold, QB, USC

Darnold is looking like the #1 overall pick next year, and by this time, the Rams might already be in a position to move on from Jared Goff. That would especially be the case if they are bad enough to be drafting way up high like this.

2. Cleveland Browns, Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

Did Cleveland answer their question at quarterback in 2017? I guess we will see, but it doesn’t appear so. Also, next year brings a much better class for signal callers.

3. Chicago Bears, Arden Key, DE/OLB, LSU

The Bears have other big needs, but they can’t turn down best player available

saquon-barkley

4. San Francisco 49ers, Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

Saquon Barkley broke the Penn State sophomore season rushing yards record with 1,302 on the season. He passed the mark of 1,236 yards set by Evan Royster in 2008. Barkley’s now in 10th place at Penn State for single season rushing. He trails Rodney Kinlaw (1,329 yards, 2007) for ninth place, and should easily surpass that versus USC in the Rose Bowl.

After just two seasons, he’a already in 14th place at Penn State, tied with Lenny Moore.

5. New Orleans Saints, Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

You won’t find a better synergy in college football between player name and team nickname. McGlinchey should have left the Fighting Irish this season as he certainly would have been a first rounder, in this year of weak OT prospects. Go here for more on McGlinchey.

6. New York Jets, Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

7. Jacksonville Jaguars, Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

8. Detroit Lions, Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama

9. Baltimore Ravens, Derwin James SS, Florida State

10. Philadelphia Eagles, Malik Jefferson, OLB, Texas

11. Los Angeles Chargers, Calvin Ridley WR, Alabama

12. Tennessee Titans, Derrius Guice, RB, LSU

13. Buffalo Bills, Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

14. Indianapolis Colts, Tyquan Lewis, DE, Ohio State

Urban Meyer has made Ohio State a de facto “SEC speed” kind of school, as each brings astounding depth and talent on the DL. Like a traditional Alabama or LSU, there’s always new pieces to plug and play, when the status quo graduates/declare early for the NFL Draft

15. New York Giants, Daron Payne DT, Alabama

16. Miami Dolphins, Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame

With Ronnie Stanley, the Martin brothers, McGlinchey and now Nelson, ND is really becoming a factory for NFL OL in recent years. In the mid to late 2010s, we’re seeing more pro level talent on the O-line than at the other positions in South Bend.

17. Arizona Cardinals, Tarvarus McFadden, CB, Florida State

18. Minnesota Vikings, Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State

Buckeyes continue to be the Kentucky Wildcats of football- succeed and proceed.

19. Denver Broncos, Da’Shawn Hand, DE, Alabama

Former #1 overall national recruit in his class is a blue chip prospect that will fit in numerous systems.

20. Houston Texans, Jake Browning, QB, Washington

2018 looks to be a much better class for signal callers than this 2017.

21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State

22. Cincinnati Bengals, Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

Buckeyes broke numerous NFL Draft records in 2016, they have a nice crop marching to the league in 2017 as well. 2018 will bring another elite class.

23. Carolina Panthers, Martez Ivey, OG, Florida

24. Pittsburgh Steelers, Bradley Chubb, DE, NC State

25. Green Bay Packers, Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

Might be time to look at selecting Aaron Rodgers’ successor for developing down the line.

26. Washington Redskins, Bo Scarbrough, RB, Alabama

Bama is certainly tailback U. The tradition continues

27. Kansas City Chiefs, Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU

28. Atlanta Falcons, Geron Christian OT, Louisville

29. Oakland Raiders, Jordan Whitehead, CB, Pitt

30. Dallas Cowboys, Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama

31, Seattle Seahawks, Harold Landry, DE, Boston College

32. New England Patriots, Brock Ruble, OT, Florida State

So much FSU in this 2018 NFL mock draft. It appears the Noles are back on their way to the 1990s level dominance.

This 2018 NFL mock draft is over, and it’s listed on the Walter Football database

Since when is louisville in the pac 12?

Lamar Jackson won’t get drafted in first 4 rounds…..unless he changes positions. Every NFL source will tell you he isn’t an NFL QB. So once I saw you have him mocked in 1st round, couldn’t take you or your mock seriously.

Cleveland has Houston’s first and seoncd round picks

uhh Bills have 2 first round picks

  5. Pretty below average mock. At least do the research for which teams are owed picks. Bills and Browns have Chiefs and Texans. Also Lamar Jackson isnt an NFL quarterback.
