Warren Buffett, the 82 year old “Oracle of Omaha” joined Twitter today today. It’s not everyday a multi-zillionaire gets on the 140 character or less micro-blogging platform. He sent his first tweet while being interviewed by Fortune magazine at the University of Nebraska.
And the Nebraska fight song sounds so much better when you’re one of the richest men alive and surrounded by hot cheerleaders 1/4 your age. Warren Buffett, with the help of the Nebraska cheerleaders and band, leads the crowd in singing the University of Nebraska fight song at the 2012 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders’ Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska.
Here’s the first ever Warren Buffett tweet:
Warren is in the house.

In July Warren Buffett donated $1.5 billion to the Gates Foundation, bringing his lifetime philanthropic total of giving to $17.3 billion; in August he pledged $3 billion in stock to his children’s foundations. Buffett also continued his campaign for higher taxes on the rich: “We need Congress, right now, to enact a minimum tax on high incomes. I would suggest 30% of taxable income between $1 million and $10 million, and 35% on amounts above that.”
And here you can see Warren Buffett singing “There’s no place like Nebraska.” Warren Buffett is a big Husker supporter. He’s #2 in the Forbes 400 richest people list and 15th among the most powerful people list.
