TBS/TNT sideline reporter Jaime Maggio got a lot of attention during 2011 March Madness. During that time of year, when college basketball routinely sees an exponential growth in popularity and coverage, America creates new media stars too.
“It sounds like the breakout performer so far in Chicago is CBS/TBS sideline reporter Jaime Maggio,” tweeted SI.com writer Stewart Mandel. “Not on the preseason depth chart.”
And her stock rose again as she covered the NBA Playoffs between the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers.
Now she’s back covering the 2011 MLB playoffs and getting a ton of newfound interest on the internet, and now the 2012 NBA playoffs.
Maggio tweeted about an hour ago:
Tune in to TBS MLB on Deck for my pregame interview w Rangers All-Time Hits leader & fellow @UCSBgauchos Alum, Michael Young
Maggio comes to the Turner broadcasting team from CBS 2/KCAL 9. She co-anchored “Sports Central” with Gary and contributed to “LTV” and “Think Blue TV.”

I might have to agree with this tweet.
Call me what you will, but Jaime Maggio may get me to watch more baseball… #GoodGooglyMoogly
Jaime has also served as a sideline reporter for NFL on FOX, as well as courtside reporter for the Philadelphia 76ers, which earned her a 2010 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award. She’s a legend in Philly for her work on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, and all of her beat reporting with Sixers. Now she’s become a national sensation.
Coolest of all, she’s a “Gauchette,” as she earned her degree from the University of California Santa Barbara.
