Golden State Warriors’ guard Monta Ellis is being sued by a former Warriors employee Erika Smith for sexual harassment. Smith is claiming the NBA star bombarded her with suggestive sexual text messages, and when that didn’t work he sent her a photo of his top decision making appendage. Welcome to the club with Brett Favre, Tiger Woods, and Tony Parker. And don’t forget Sean Salisbury.
Smith worked for the community relations department for the Warriors. She said Ellis sometimes sent her several lewd messages a day using a ‘secret cellphone’, starting from November 2010.
Ellis’ wife Juanika Ellis found out about the steamy texts and confronted Smith, apparently believing that Smith instigated the texts. Eventually, Smith was fired from her job, and the Warriors front office told Ellis not to worry, this will all get swept under the rug. Guess not!
Smith is suing not just Ellis, but also the Golden State Warriors for wrongful dismissal among other charges.
