Sports fans and media consumers everywhere used to joke that every time Brett Favre moved, sneezed, went to the bathroom or even breathed- ESPN’s Rachel Nichols was there. I’m speaking of course about Favre’s three year period in which he retired/unretired 1,298 times and held the media and fan bases of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets hostage.
Now the Nichols joke applies to the soon to be NBA champion Miami Heat. I guess her hair matches the team colors.
BTW, isn’t that screen grab above just priceless (photo credit here)

Before ESPN (starting in 2-04) Nichols worked for the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel (1995–1996) and Washington Post (1996–2004). She is known for her tendency to rarely blink on camera. Rachel Michele Alexander was born in Potomac, Maryland and graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Rachel is married to music executive Max Nichols, son of film and stage director Mike Nichols. She is also Diane Sawyer’s daughter-in-law.
She was named one of Esquire’s “Women We Love” in 2005 and a candidate for Playboy’s Sexiest Sportscaster in 2008. I personally don’t see it, but a lot of people seem to think she’s a hottie, so here are plenty of Nichols pics for ya!
