No big surprise here, Chris Paul has re-upped with the LA Clippers. We knew he was staying put; especially when the LA Clippers went out and got Doc Rivers to coach him. Chris Paul and Doc combined will now be used as a recruiting tool to try and land Dwight Howard.
Multiple outlets are reporting that CP3 is expected to verbally agree to a five-year, $107 million contract extension with the team. As I write this; 12:57 A.M. Monday morning, the team is able to officially offer him.
It’s been officially NBA free market since beginning at 11:01 p.m. CDT Sunday night. So we’ve seen a fair amount of action already in the first 119 minutes. Chris Paul cannot sign his new contract until July 10th but he can agree to terms before then. Happy Canada Day/NBA Free Agency day everybody.
