Sick of the non-stop Tim Tebow talk/coverage? Tired of the Denver Broncos QB who: wins with a very unorthodox style and mentions God/Jesus/The Lord/savior/his spirituality so much that if you were playing a drinking game for those words while watching a Tebow interview you’d die from alcohol poisoning within the first couple minutes?
Well, Charles Barkley sure is. And he wants the Chicago Bears to do something about it this Sunday.
From ESPNChicago:
“I want to make a personal plea to Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher, Mr. [Julius] Peppers, please stop the madness,” Barkley said Friday on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000. “I’m just so tired … I like Tim Tebow. He seems like a good kid, and I wish him success, but I am Tebowed out. So this is my personal plea for you three guys, please stop this madness.”
“It’s clearly a media-driven story,” Barkley said. “They just want you to argue about Tim Tebow. Dude, let the kid play. If he can play, good. If he can’t play it will show. But to have this argument every single day after five or six games is just ridiculous.
“Tim Tebow is a good player. I wish him luck, but if I don’t ever hear the words Brett Favre or Tim Tebow again it won’t be enough.”
Here audio of Barkley’s interview, where he discusses the Chris Paul trade and more by going here
You know when Kurt Warner tells you to “tone it down” such as he did to Tebow, then it’s time to chill out with the bible talking. Much like it’s time to stop fawning over him, media.
I stopped watching NFL Primetime because of the ANNOYING Chris Berman, and switched over to NFL Network. But now Michael Irvin is equally IRRITATING in his non-stop slurping of Tebow, and Deion $anders whoring of Cam Newton with his non-stop “CAM” singing..they’ve jumped the shark into WWL territory too. Ever since the Broncos waived Kyle Orton they’ve been winning you have to give them that. But the NFL Network personalities should act more like journalists and less like fans.
ESPN cementhead Skip Bayless is right in lockstep with the rest of the lamestream media that SLURP Tebow constantly. In fact he might be the worst offender of all.
I only say this to Chuckles, don’t take it out on Tebow the man, direct your fire at the media who serve as his de facto PR firm– they deserve it. Criticizing his play his fine, criticizing his faith is low road stuff.
After all Tebow and “Tebowing” are HUG in Taiwan.
By the way, you can get all the Barkley you want in his new Weight Watchers for Men ad campaign.
