Unless you leisurely read NBA mock drafts on a regular basis, you don’t know who Dante Exum is. Unlike in the NFL, no one watches or cares about the scouting combine, so you didn’t get any Dante Exum knowledge there. So who is this Australian guy likely going third overall to the Philadelphia 76ers?
He will likely be the third overall pick even though none of us have ever seen him play. So let’s get to know Dante Exum.
Well Exum gives you a lot of what Michael Carter-Williams gives you, but it’s the safe pick for Philly to make at #3. Joel Embiid is out of the question, but maybe the Sixers grab him at #10.
Here’s where we have him in our latest mock draft.
3. Philadelphia- Dante Exum, G, Australia, 6-6, 1995.
This is where the Embiid situation starts to get interesting. Philly took an injured Nerlens Noel last year but I am not sure they can afford to roll the dice again this time around. Dante Exum and Michael Carter-Williams would form a long, athletic, versatile, interchangeable backcourt.
And David Kmiecik broke down Exum somewhat in our podcast here, and on 87.7 The Game.
Danté Exum went through a mental and physical evaluation with the Red Bull High Performance team. Here is a video piece chronicling the testing.
