If you’re in the Danica Patrick is terrible at her job camp, then today was a victory for you. If you’re one of the many Danica Patrick haters, today you got a lot more grist for your mill; or material to work with. She wasn’t even “One Lap Downica,” because she didn’t make it through the first lap.
She wrecked halfway through lap one and totaled her car.
She finished 43rd (out of 43 participants) in the Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Sunday at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.
Patrick seems to finish 29th a whole lot. And her average finish was running around 27th for awhile. But it’s severely below that now! Really, Danica isn’t beating anybody except the “start-and-parkers.”
Danica Patrick, who started 29th, spun in turn one and her car made hard contact with the SAFER Barrier on the outside retaining wall between turns one and two. She was checked and released without injury from the infield medical center. Kevin Harvick held off Kurt Busch to win.
“I knew that, going into the race based on practice and everything we’ve seen from practice in Cup to the Nationwide race, losing grip was going to be not that hard to do,” Patrick said.
So today was a really rough day, but remember she did win that Indycar race in Japan in 2005. Although that was under shady circumstances too. Weather issues shortened the race and….well Danica Patrick is going to win sometime right?
She may not be any good at winning at competitive auto racing, however she knows her country music.
Maybe watching her in a country music video, or co-hosting the Country Music Awards, is by far more exciting than watching her race?
ESPN NASCAR Analyst Nicole Briscoe has some interesting and candid thoughts about what lies ahead for Danica.
