Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means: baseball! Why not hold a barbecue, complete with a sweet setup on the back deck or backyard? You could hook up the T.V., laptop, or tablet.
Here’s how to make it happen.
You Have To Have Ballpark Food
What’s a ballgame without the ballgame food? Break out the hot dogs, but get the largest ones you can find. If they’re bigger than the bun, all the better! Don’t forget the fixins either – diced onions, relish, ketchup, mustard. Flash fry the french fries for an authentic taste.
Hot pretzels are another staple at the ballpark. You could pay $7 a bag for gourmet chocolate pretzels, but why do that when wax chocolate dip costs a few bucks? Take your standard soft pretzel and coat them in chocolate, and then toss them in sprinkles. Done.
Sliders aren’t usually ballpark food, but they should have been. Do it up right with grilled onions or onion rings, pickles, and bacon. Never forget the bacon.
Trail mix is another simple idea that can be easily done at home. It’s a little healthier than the other options, but still delicious.
Drinks
Beer. That is all. But seriously, you could (and probably should) set out an assortment of your favorite craft beers (or cheap beer if that’s your thing). Have water on-hand just in case.
Getting The T.V. Set Up
Getting cable outside isn’t always easy. Some companies, like Dish, available through SatelliteTVCable.com, do make it easy though. Since it is satellite, the actual hookup can go anywhere and with laptops you can make it a wireless signal pretty easily. With some cable setups, you’re restricted by various factors like where the box for the house is physically located. Sometimes, companies also restrict how you access their cable too.
If you have the option, go with a satellite hookup. Otherwise, get yourself one of those fancy devices like Google Chromecast, Roku, or Apple T.V. so you can (hopefully) stream your T.V. from inside to a portable device outside.
Decorations
Decorations can add a nice finishing touch to any party. But, you have to know how to do them right. Choose your favorite team’s colors and hand up printable banners or posters, break out the big hands, and maybe think about getting some sports flags, ball caps, and team shirts to show your support.
You could also put up colors, posters, get hats, etc. for the other team and invite friends who support them over. Duke it out with a friendly competition and see who wins.
At the end of the day, it’s all about having fun, and decorations can really liven up the atmosphere and make that happen.
Play Some Games
There’s going to be some downtime before, and during, the game. What better way to stay occupied than games? It could be card games that you can dump at a moment’s notice, or board games that doesn’t take a lot of effort to set up or tear down.
