Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber is only 23 years old, but he’s already made history several times. The fourth overall pick out of Indiana in 2014, Schwarber has a couple Babe Ruthian qualities to him. Like Ruth, he’s a World Series champion who achieved one of the most iconic home runs in Wrigley Field history with a monster blast.
He was the first to top the scoreboard in right field with a home run jack, and that ball currently still resides there, encased in glass.
Today, another famous Kyle Schwarber artifact, the SCHWARB-O-METER, found its way to a special protected place. Except this time it will be accessible to the masses, unlike “the Schwarball.”

The original SCHWARB-O-METER, which made its debut at Game 1 of the World Series in Cleveland and continued to track Kyle Schwarber’s slugging % at Games 2, 4, 6 & 7 of the World Series, will be donated to the Chicago History Museum Wednesday morning.
The museum has an original SHAWON-O-METER in its collection, which was donated 25 years ago. Chief Curator Libby Mahoney will be accepting the SCHWARB-O-METER on behalf of the CHM.
Cub fans of a certain age may remember the SHAWON-O-METER, which tracked the batting average of shortstop Shawon Dunston from 1989 through the end of his career. Shawon wore the #12 his entire career as does Kyle now.
