Les Miles is known for doing some crazy things on the football field every now and then. “The Mad Hatter” has also a reputation for making post game press conferences interesting for a change. He often deviates from the boring “coachspeak” script and likes to be funny and compelling during his media availabilities. Those media sessions will remain in Baton Rouge.
He will not be relocating to Ann Arbor, and Michigan introduces Jim Harbaugh as the next UM coach today.
The proverbial “Michigan Man,” Les Miles played at Michigan (class of ’76) and was a Wolverines assistant coach under the late Bo Schembelcher; twice actually (’80-’81 and ’87-’94) but he has remained at LSU through the past two Michigan coaching vacancies.
Today, at the press conference previewing the Music City Bowl (and a jam-packed presser at that, seriously, the Tennessee Titans conference room was utterly packed to the gills) a reporter elicited comment from Les Miles on Michigan hiring Jim Harbaugh.
“I’m very happy Michigan has made the selection of a high quality coach, it’s just a matter of time before they return to prominence, Go Blue.”
