Even though I respond to less than 20% of my guest blog email pitches. And a lot of those responses are just two words:  “don’t care.” If they determined the rankings based solely on the rudeness, surliness and aloofness of the blog owner then yes, we deserve to be #1.

Notice what it said there: “Your writing must be extremely good quality.”

See Tom Izzo of the Michigan State Spartans.  Be advised that I run a strict program, just like he does in East Lansing, MI. You are expected to perform at a high level, and work extremely hard, because we offer a lot. Like playing for State and Izzo, you will get good. You will become great at what you’re doing if you do what I tell you.

If you screw up though, I will throw you out into the cold, dark Upper Midwestern winter wilderness without hesitation. Like Izzo, I will kick you out of my gym for good, if you can’t live up to the standards I place upon you.

So if you think you can hack it, and you can handle being dismissed, if the situation requires it, then by all means send me your submission.

But remember THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!

field-of-dreams

Remember James Earl Jones’ character in “Field of Dreams” named Terrence Mann?”

He played a writer recluse that hated people always coming to him for causes, interviews and sociopolitical answers. He just wanted to be alone and not be bothered. That’s me with guest blog pitch emails reaching my inbox.

Paul M. Banks is the owner of The Sports Bank.net. (“Quasi-endorsed” by Philadelphia Eagles Coach Chip Kelly) He’s also an author who also contributes regularly to MSN, Fox Sports , Chicago Now, Walter Football.com and Yardbarker
