You didn’t see Wayne Rooney today in Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to hated rival Liverpool.
He will be out for around three weeks due to a head injury, Manager David Moyes said. Rooney suffered a cut on his forehead after colliding with Phil Jones in Manchester United training.
The club has said it looks almost certain Wayne Rooney will miss England’s crucial World Cup games against Moldova and Ukraine.
Rooney will wake up with a huge headache this morning – and Moyes knows exactly how their star striker is feeling. The striker received ten stitches and left United’s Carrington training ground with his head swathed in bandages. The Wayne Rooney saga has caused a figurative headache for the men who manage the team; now Rooney himself has a literal head ache.
Manchester United hasn’t scored in it’s last (close to) 200 minutes of football. Their offense is in trouble, and losing their star stryker doesn’t help. United sits in middle of the standings: 1-1-1 and with 4 points.
And I guess there’s no chance they can sell Rooney now.
