Manchester United cruised to an easy 3-0 victory at Everton today, in what was one of their more impressive efforts this Premier League season. The Red Devils got goals from Wayne Rooney, Morgan Schneiderling and Ander Herrera (who took home the Man of the Match Award).
Wayne Rooney scored his first goal at his old stomping grounds of Goodison Park since 2007. It was also Rooney’s first Premier League away goal in close to a year.
Prior to today, United had not won at Goodison Park since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. In fact, the Red Devils hadn’t even scored a goal at Everton since Fergie say goodbye to managing. Here’s footage of the Rooney scoring strike, his 187th career Premier League goal in the 62′:
