I know it’s just a meaningless preseason friendly but tonight was a “Red Wedding” by the Red Devils on the L.A. Galaxy. The Rose Bowl crowd of about 90,000 was mostly red in support of Manchester United. Yes, even in supposed enemy territory. The final was 7-nil, but it could have easily been 9 or 10 or 11-nil if Louis van Gaal wanted it to be.
Here are Vines of all seven goals in the Rose Bowl rout.
1. Danny Welbeck getting the scoring started:
2. Wayne Rooney on a penalty kick
3. Rooney’s second. It doesn’t get any easier than this…a little tap-tappy-taperoo
4. Reece James makes it 4-0. At this point, it was time to put on the breaks and ease up
5. James’ second brace. The singing of “Glory glory Man United” was much quieter at the Rose Bowl after this goal, and the ones that followed. Because the outcome was so decided by this point.
6. Ashley Young, yes even Ashley Young got into the act.
Those in the crowd at the Rose Bowl who hadn’t checked out by this point…soon did after this one.
7. Young again. Now it’s just getting mean
