As long as United remain in top four contention, the job security of Louis van Gaal might remain on solid footing. Despite another setback today, they’re still only two points behind Tottenham Hotspur for fourth place at the final Champions League berth.
“Van Gaal” is a top ten trending term right now on Twitter, and for all the wrong reasons. Whether Manchester United decide to go Pep Guardiola, or Jose Mourinho, or someone else entirely, they should make a change soon as their supporter base is getting restless. Right now, United fans are lashing out on social media at Van Gaal and deservedly so.
The Red Devils lost again, 1-0 at home to Southampton today. When it ended a couple hours ago the embattled United leader was booed off the pitch. Yesterday, Van Gaal again dismissed reports he will leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, even going as far as to say he does not have to answer to the media. Here’s a link to the full quote.
Van Gaal is right in that it’s the board he must answer to, not the media. However, the fans have a voice too that should be heard. Here are some of the more entertaining digs at Van Gaal today on Twitter.
