England’s Former Interim Manager Stuart Pearce was on Fox Soccer Daily today:
“Anything past the quarterfinal for England at the World Cup will be beyond expectations”
Stuart Pearce on Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney’s current form for the England National Team:
“I think the start of the regular season was not so good, a bit slow, but he’s coming to form really well now. If he fully delivers at the major finals, next summer will be a big one for him. I’ve been a little disappointed with what he’s done once he gets to the finals, but he’s a key player. He needs to fire for England to be successful.
On England’s World Cup chances in Brazil: “I think realistic will be a quarterfinal berth. Anything beyond that will be beyond expectations in my eyes. We’re a nation that’s not won anything for 60 years.
