You could call this a boost for Manchester United.
David de Gea has put his elongated transfer soap opera from this summer behind him. He’s returning to action, as he was just named starting #1 for Spain tonight in the Euro Qualifier versus Macedonia. Since he’s playing for country again, then logic holds he might also play for club again soon.

Manager Vincent Del Bosque made comments yesterday hinting that a De Gea return was in the works.
“He’s in condition to play,” Del Bosque is quoted in the Daily Mirror.
“We have talked with him and he is fine. I do not know if he will play or not but he is OK and that’s all I wanted to know. He is a mature guy and is ready to play without suffering any burden of what happened.”
“I have talked to him. I did not want to give him any advice because many people have already done it. I just asked whether he was in condition to play and he told me yes. Nothing else. We have a big squad and we must rotate it.”
Could this mean that De Gea will return to first team action on Saturday against arch-rival Liverpool?
Expect United Manager Louis van Gaal to be peppered with questions about this on Friday at his pregame press conference. You can also expect his answers to be entertaining.
De Gea has not played for United since the team’s final preseason game July 29th at Soldier Field in Chicago. In the 2-0 loss to Paris Saint Germain in the International Champions Cup he gave a very poor performance. Many thought he looked distracted and Van Gaal has not featured De Gea since. Sergio Romero had three clean sheets in his first three games, but played very poorly in United’s fourth fixture.
