Manchester United deadline day gossip centers around two players: Ahmed Musa (here’s more on him and that situation), and Renato Sanches.
If the Red Devils are going to get back into the top four, and stay there, they should probably add at least a player or two before transfer window shuts later tonight. They need to hurry if they’re going to make any upgrades at all because Old Trafford has yet to sign a single player this January transfer window.
There have been numerous reports indicating that United are willing to make a €30 million move to sign Renato Sanches, but Benfica manager Rui Vitoria says that he remains cool, calm and collected over the speculation.
“Renato is mature beyond his age,” Vitoria told SportTV. “He is being protected by a group of players who support him and are giving him a lot of help. This situation is not difficult for us. If things happen, they happen. We all know that’s the way it is. There is no point in worrying over things that have yet to happen.”
“There is no drama about all this. The team is very stable and that helps dealing with speculation like this.”
Metro had a report claiming that United are willing to activate the £34 million release clause written into the contract of Renato Sanches.
