With Crystal Palace coming to Old Trafford on Saturday it’s time to for The Sports Bank’s Man United Starting XI projection. With the total crisis in defense, no healthy pair center-backs available, what will Louis van Gaal do? Well, Michael Carrick said he’d be willing to shift from midfield to the back line, so I slotted him there, along with youngster Paddy McNair.
I guess I’m believing the rumor from the Daily Mirror- Robin van Persie to be dropped in favor the youngster James Wilson? Because I went with him in my striker pairing. Not feeling confident in that selection, but we’ll see what happens.

It’s too bad Van Gaal doesn’t have the personnel to play three in the back like he wants to. Maybe United will buy some better defenders in the January transfer window. Here’s the Man United starting XI from the Manchester Evening News.
