Manchester United’s pursuit of Barcelona forward Pedro has been one of the more interesting and entertaining transfer rumors this summer. The sports books gave the Spain international ridiculously favorable odds of landing with United.
Despite his falling down the Barca pecking order after Luis Suarez’s arrival, United Manager Louis van Gaal seemed to hint that he could be the missing piece to contending for a title again. At least it seems that way given how Van Gaal dropped his name in a recent press conference.
Not to mention the viral video of the fan who asked Pedro to deny the United rumors, and he could not. Then the Pedro fan cried.
Today in Pedro to United “news,” we have Van Gaal being directly asked about the Pedro rumors.
“It is a process,” said Van Gaal in a news conference: “When he has signed I come to you and say: ‘Hey, Pedro is here.’ That is not the case and we shall wait and see.”
Read into that what you will. Or don’t read anything more into it. It’s up to you.
The tabloids have been off and running for awhile already with over-analyzing these comments.
